Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Post game positive Buntoyo should manage a Horseshoe team. "Great battle...the guys kept on trying right to the end and the clubhouse mood is great. We were in the game. It was close. There is no quit in these guys" blah blah blah. As our competition racks up the W's. Its not the f***ing try league. This team is so frustrating. If they extend Berrios, I hope to f*** its a team friendly deal at least. At a fair deal at least. Montoyo, I mean... there's no words.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Orioles lose 24 in a row, then sweep Jays Vlad Jr 2/15 in series with key strike-outs and double plays in clutch situations. Berrios 3 1/2 pitched 5 earned runs, 2 un-earned (Bichette error) Shatkins -- Berrios, Vlad, and Bo might lose confidence, Charlie makes a mistake now and then, but it's important to have his positive influence to make sure these dreadful late season slumps don't extend into next year. lol... this is a good one Olerud!

WryNGinger Verified Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Montoyo is painful to listen to. It is like he was told his number one job is to stay positive for his young roster...not win games...just stay positive. It is like the team hired him to work with young players through the transition stage but the team has out-paced him in the win-now mentality. It hurts my head - get Semien and Ray on one year win-now deals and stick with transition manager Montoyo. I like the front office but I think they over-estimated Montoyo's game management abilities. Whether the team makes the play-offs or not, I just want them in competitive games for the rest of the season.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Time to reup the Berrios is a quality 2/3 starter but far from an ace discussion? Off to a stunning start today. Not good. Hope we have the bats rolling. Yup. He wouldn’t be an ace on any of the 30 teams. Still a good/great pitcher though. He’s more of a Buehrle type workhorse guy. Hopefully he pulls it together, his last 2 starts have been awful.
