That's what I figured. He isn't even running into the odd home run anymore. It's at the point where I'd consider trading his bad contract for another in the hope that a change of scenery helps.

How'd that help Toronto? You mean like the idea of a Grichuk and Kimbrel swap, cause I'm down for that.

 

All he's hitting are dingers, that's how his OPS is even that high, lol.

What is Grichuk's OPS since June? It feels like he has done nothing since the opening month and a half.

 

131 PA, 75 wRC+, 2.3 BB%, 29.0 K%, .244 OBP

 

The issue is not so much his performance, he's a streaky 1 WAR outfielder so this is exactly what he is, but as long as Buntoyo is managing, I don't think he'll ever truly be used as a 4th OF. Charlie loves vetrins. Loves them. Whether they are good or not. Even if the Jays find a way to add a bat or two at the deadline, Grich is going to play 4-5 times a week. I'm almost sure of that. I'm just tired of seeing him as an everyday player, so if they have to "Joe Panik" him to give someone else a shot, then I'm all for it. Find an equally bad contract and move on.
