Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Off night for Vlad and Teoscar. Get back at it tomorrow
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Put Pearson in the pen if he ever gets healthy. Give him the rest of the year to gain some experience and then try him as a starter again next year Don't expect much from Pearson this year.

ShowtimeBelli Verified Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I'm way more mad about tonight's game then I should be
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I think Pearson is dead Needing a 5th opinion on his groin just means it is really special
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Tough loss, knew it was going to be uphill sledding once Matz left the game. Exciting game nonetheless.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 We needed a DP big time in the tenth. If Cimber was available tonight, Montoya should be pissed and s*** on.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Sending Castro down is somewhat understandable, but why Payamps?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Good question. I mentioned Hatch, Pearson and Murph a while back you told me it wouldn't matter?
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 We needed a DP big time in the tenth. If Cimber was available tonight, Montoya should be pissed and s*** on. he was warming up for the potential 11th inning, so I'm guessing he probably could have pitched the 10th..lol.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 so Kirk is eligible to return Friday. I hope he's starting against Tampa.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 No way of knowing if Biggio would have doubled in the 9th, but why was Grichuk trying to steal. Dude's 0 for 2 and never steals bags. If he doubled in the 9th like he did in the 10th the Jays would have won! That wasn't a straight steal, or someone missed a sign, is my thinking.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 he was warming up for the potential 11th inning, so I'm guessing he probably could have pitched the 10th..lol. Holy f***..
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I mentioned Hatch, Pearson and Murph a while back you told me it wouldn't matter? Huh
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Vladdy told France that Grichuk was going to hit a double and that he would score from first. Man has vision.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Huh I guess I might've lumped it in with other suggestions, see Vlad tell France he'll score on a double, lol. Ballplayers should be mic'd up more often.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Sending Castro down is somewhat understandable, but why Payamps? That was puzzling to me as well. Thornton is a hot mess right now and Saucedo hasn't really shown much yet either, yet Payamps gets sent down instead.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Cimber should've pitched last night(10th). Just saying...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 We needed a DP big time in the tenth. If Cimber was available tonight, Montoya should be pissed and s*** on. Cimber said in a radio interview that he got there Tuesday night and was good to go for yesterday's game
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 When Murphy had 1st and 3rd with 1 out, he had only faced 2 batters, so while they needed a GB in that spot, they couldn't have brought Cimber in even in Montoyo had a brain. The smart thing would have been to bring Cimber in to start the 10th and deal with the consequences. He's the only established RP in the pen behind Romano. Losing with him on the mound is easier to stomach than the Murphy/Saucedo combo which Buntoyo inexplicably relied on in the 10th inning. Either way, after all the bad luck the Jays faced when Sheffield was pitching, it felt like a loss from the time it was 4-1. It wasn't one of the gut wrenching ones like losing leads against Cleveland, Boston, Baltimore, etc, etc.
