TrueNorth Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Maybe Jays can fake a Covid variant outbreak and give everyone time to come off the IR
Scion Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Nah man, there's been a few very winnable games where the dumb late game calls from Montoyo pissed the game away. And losing those close games is demoralizing and they pile up. It's one stupid move after another with this guy. And it's not like he has some shining resume where you give him the benefit of the doubt. IMO, there's a reason why he toiled in the minors for as long as he did. Be specific, which games and what calls do you think lost the Jays the games?
ShowtimeBelli Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Montoyo said Gurriel was in too much pain to bat in the 9th lol. This lineup tomorrow is going to be even worse
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I think Montoyo is a terrible manager, but none of these losses are on him. The bullpen is atrocious, it doesn't even matter who they use. Pretty much! Someone might be able to point to a game or two but it would maybe be debatable. It's f***ing tough to properly deploy a s***** bullpen. Three games ago everyone wanted Castro used instead of Chatwood who blew the game... well look at Castro's ERA now. The pen just blows. It's s*** luck. Everyone should bask in it. Life is suffering and we all die. it's kind of funny and cool.
Slyfisher Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I'd probably fake an injury too lol
ShowtimeBelli Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Charlie said he's going to make a new t-shirt hahahahahaha. This guy trolling us is actually comical. I hope he keeps it up
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Charlie Montoyo is my spirit animal. Smile through the ******** in your life, guys.

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I watched the first 5 innings or so and went out, how in the f*** were the orioles fouling off so many pitches, it honestly seemed a little suspect at points.

Yup, this^^ Although we simply were beat, and badly at that, tonight.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Obviously I’d rather play sub .500 teams, like we are, but putting so much stock in the schedule change has always been risky. Rather than closing series wins and sweeps against the Indians etc etc we are now in a position where we have to run the table on these teams. And we just don’t have arms (or bats at least tonight) to dominant them either. Just a brutal stretch. 1st game in, buddy. Chillax.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Atkins- Get some f***ing pitching. Bring up Hatch and Pearson now. I don't get it, mate. Again though, It didn't matter tonight.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 IT'S OK guys They're playing hard, having fun and taking ground balls

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Is this supposed to be a dig at the front office for not issuing enough help? It's impossible to take the statement as anything other than tongue in cheek. And since it says "THIS is fine", it clearly suggests that he's talking about something specific. What an odd thing for a manager to wear. Usually you see these kinds of cryptic messages worn on clothes by public figures who can't speak out because of NDA's and other reasons like that.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 1st game in, buddy. Chillax. 3-7 last 10. Not going to relax until we dig ourselves out of this, if we can. Every loss just means more you have to do in the games that remain. Eventually you can run out of schedule. We are chasing solid teams.
The Iceman Verified Member Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 I would read the shirt as I DON'T CARE WHAT THE REPORTERS ARE WRITTING. I AM FINE. WE ARE FINE. Not as a slight to his BP

Yeah feels like a dig at the front office. Or maybe Charlie doesn’t know the origin of the meme (likely) I think the shirt is hilarious though given the context of how bad they’ve been playing
