I have no idea if they will get healthy. If Springer and Kirk and some relievers get healthy, and Pearson and Manoah can make a decent transition to the majors, there is no doubt the Jays can make a good run in the last 100 games.

I guess I'm just doubting this will happen. The 'Springer still not running' reports are just discouraging as these losses

We were playing for 1st place this past Wednesday, Olerud. The sky is not falling.

We have been hit hard but every team is fighting injuries. It’s very rare for any team to not be missing some key pieces. Takes quality depth and some luck to overcome. We had some luck for awhile. Our pen was over achieving. Now the luck is gone. Thankfully I spared myself from watching since Espinals 3 strike bunt attempt the other night.

Its more than just key pieces, we have basically lost every key pen arm this year to the DL save Chatwood (Yates, Phelps, Dolis, Merryweather, Romano, Castro) and every starter but Matz. Let's not pretend like every team is facing that level of adversity. None of this is to mention the position players or lack of a home field.

I think we need to suspend any serious evaluations of this ball club until they get healthy. These losses are horrible, but it's honestly kind of remarkable that it took this long for all of the injured arms to start impacting the teams record. Not to mention the absences of: Kirk, Biggio and Springer.

Don't forget Merryweather. He was probably their biggest loss. They said that taxing the bullpen like they have was going to catch up with them.Well here it it folks. I want to play these f***ers with a full lineup without the likes of Espinal, Jansen, Davis in starting roles and a bullpen with Payamps, Beasley, Tice, Bergen.

Wow, you stuck to that BC??? I can see it as you're extremely passionate in your convictions, lol. Cheers!

Can you miss that which you (almost) never had.

We need to get used to this being Springer over his contact I bet.

I worry about this too. Likely irrational, however ...

I don't know. Springer is almost f***ing 32. Tulo recency bias??

Chatwood was also on the IL at a point

Get Springer back in the line up and either Pearson or Manaoh up with their heads on straight, and I'll agree with you.

What did he say?

What did he say?

Basically that Charlie has made puzzling moves this series and that you're supposed to lose with your best pitchers on the mound, that should be Charlie's answer on the loss, and that didn't happen this weekend and especially the last 2 games.

ETA: I want Siddall for Manager, he's great tv though.

Fair enough, lol.

He is a big loss but he is just a mirage in the Dustin McGowan vein. Nobody can ever really count on the poor guy because he just have never been able to sustain health/performance. That said, I’ll be glad to see him back for however long it lasts.

Is he back on the IL? Please explain to me why we saw Castro and Payamps if he wasn't. The guy who's been lights out all year has a bad outing and you can't come back to him today and ask him to pitch 2 days in a row?

Ya. My somewhat irrational anger at Buntoyo was giving me a twitch in my left eye like the Chief Inspector in the Pink Panther movies. Had to step away and based on results glad I did. Man since the 2 out 9th inning home run by JD this week blew hard.

there's 110 games left but lets face it tampa will beat us badly anytime of the year. Jays will not be any better or have any greater chance to win a series against tampa now or in august.

Are you serious? You said you hope we lose, right after we had tied it...

Reading comprehension needs some work dude.

“Feels like they’re still gonna lose this... almost wish Semien didn’t tie it”

I was saying that even after tying it, it felt to me like they probably still weren’t going to win and I would have preferred them to lose in the 10th instead of wasting more bullets just to lose in the 11th.

Also an extreme morale crusher to tie the game twice late and still lose.

The team would have been better off losing 7-5 in the 10th

Its been the worst week for the Jays in several years IMO. Last time I can remember was when they got swept by Baltimore in the last week of the season in 2016.

EDIT: not swept, but they lost games 2 and 3 to Baltimore and lost to Boston the next day. That was rough because I think they were tied with Baltimore in the standings at that point and it was looking like they might just miss the playoffs

You don't think a Jays team with Springer leading off and a bottom three of Kirk, Gurriel and Biggio won't have a better chance of beating Tampa than a Jays team that had Espinal Davis and Jansen as their bottom 3? We're not healthy. If we ever got healthy, we would have a much better chance of beating tampa in August.

I see, but it's still an ugly way to look at things. I was kind of like, yes, I hope they win when he hit it, lol.

The Jats can hit with anyone in the league.

Their pitching sucks. If guys get healthy and they add some good arms, they can compete with Tampa or anyone else.

I was definitely HOPING they would win. But it didn’t feel like they would... if that makes sense. These extra innings against Tampa (including last year) have been absolutely brutal

As I said earlier, like pulling teeth man. Brutal.

If Josh Donaldson was on this team, he would have knocked out Montoyo at least once this season.

This quote is so bad and just highlights what's wrong with this guy. Screw off with this crap.
