A little tidbit from Baseball America:

It's useful to note that before Franco, the hitting prospect with some similar attributes (hit over power, high average, high contact rate but a flatter swing plane) was Vladimir Guerrero Jr. This year, Guerrero is hitting .412/.444/1.176 against fastballs in the top third of the zone, which has played a significant role in his breakout season.

Can't have McGuire and Semien that close together...

This was a bit of a stretch, but I'll allow it.

Where you getting this from?

He talked about it an interview. I think it was one of those pre game documentaries. Nobody here recalls this? I think his wife was talking about it also in the same interview.

Yeah, his wife saying he scared them, but didn't hurt them, yada, yada... from his playing days.

f***, man.

It's unreal but Shatkins seems determined to stretch out him and Hatch. With our starters showing more consistency, there should be flexibility with getting Pearson right. I would say Hatch would be the man up if a starter goes down, but what they stay healthy for the most part? Hatch and Pearson can help the team (Hatch for now) in the pen. How about a six man rotation with Hatch, and the bottom two performers battle over the fifth starting spot / swing man role? It would create a highly competitive atmosphere that's for sure.

It's becoming time to accept that Pearson is a reliever.

Yep, sadly. That time is approaching.

There could be a nut job suppressed in there somewhere. I don't mean that in a personal sense, mental health is serious. I would just selfishly love to seem that side of him emerge and go nuts on an umpire. Lol..

That's not how mental health works, mate. You don't suppress anger and snap on people like a lunatic, school up, and stop looking so stereotypical. This viewpoint is an actual stigma against mental health.

Uh, if that side of him is surfaced, he can possibly experience set backs. There's more to mental health issues than anxiety and depression, jackass.

lol... so tell us Doc. what's his progression in his state at this time? Can he manage to go outside, or let loose in society in a high pressured job in the MLB, all umpires are now in danger, write him up.

Wow, you looked way too deep into this.

Semien has a .350 OBP and has more speed. Right now, Semien is the right player for leadoff. Maybe in a few weeks if Semien cools off and Springer is doing his .360 OBP thing, a switch is made.

I like Semien and all but i prefer to look at the entire body of work rather than a hot streak. Either way, it's good on Springer to put the ego aside and allow the players who have done well to stay where they're at for now. Expect Springer to be back at leadoff very soon.

You do if you’re schizo or bipolar

It'll be unfortunate the next time Manoah is on the mound and the ump that chucked him is behind the plate. Signs get crossed all the time. It's too bad the catcher was looking for a slider but a high fastball came in that the catcher couldn't get his glove on it. Good thing the umps wear masks.

We don't even have to worry about there being a passed ball if there's an runner on either. The dazed ump will just call a foul tip when the bat was 6 inches from the ball on the swing.

Springer is back fingers crossed. Starters and pen performing better. Good Stirling and Good Chatwood lately huge plus.

They need to keep addressing their holes. Confident they will. Things are looking up men.

Thank God the SP has been good

I still don't really trust anyone in the pen except Romano

I wouldn't hate seeing what Pearson could do second half of the season pitching the 8th inning

Kind of like what Gibby did with Aaron Sanchez a few years back

Me same on Pearson once he gets off his latest IL stint. Why not? See if he can find his command 1/2 innings for max effort. He is getting the stink of bust on him.

Romano has been good not great but he is our best. Still BBing 4.5 BB/9 and makes me nervous some outings. Last night loved his FB use.

Been thinking for ages people were giving up on Reese too quick, there is potential there. Already better hitter then Pitcher Janssen lol.
