Pitchers have no problem throwing Jansen Fastballs regardless of where he is in the lineup. And the whole theory of getting players better pitches to hit only works if the guys in front of him actually get on base. Something Biggio is excellent at and Lordes is not. Even in the bizarre scenario that a major league manager wants to have Jansen hitting third Biggio should still be hitting leadoff or atleast second.

It's becoming somewhat of a regular occurrence with Montoyo unfortunately. I would personally hope that a manager would place some actual thought into his lineup construction, there are plenty of good baseball minds on the staff he can run stuff by instead of these batshit crazy lineup decisions.

because in a single game the order isn't going to matter at all. Over a season I don't want to see Biggio batting 8th and costing him PA's. Over a game it could work out great for the Jays. Yarborough seldom gets to 26 batters faced. Third time through Biggio will see a different pitcher and maybe that is what they want.
