43211234 Verified Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I only caught the end of the game but something has to be done about that CF camera. That low and flat angle is atrocious. Has there been any word about finding a new place for that camera? Maybe it's not feasible with no stands in the outfield but it would really suck to have to deal with that angle for the rest of the year. Edit: So I found the answer to my own question. I made the risky decision to spend some time on the Blue Jays subreddit and came across a post a guy that works on the audio for the Sportsnet broadcasts. He said that the camera "will be worked on"
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I feel like this would have gone better if you answered your own question with an alt account Anyway, thanks for the info. Tbh, the camera work and angles were actually a lot better than what I was expecting. Tons of respect for the Jays and the people working on this reno. It did not really feel like they were in a AAA park. Bonus, hopefully they can keep this set up for the Bisons next year. I want as many camera angles of El Capitan as possible after he graduates AA after a month.

Laika Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Yeah the angle was not great but I could probably live with it for ~25 games (or whatever they have there). It did not help that the ump last night had a very tight strike zone. Screwed over both pitchers multiple times.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I barely noticed it, but I was also drunk.

Maybe the fresh coat of paint when they cover up all the Jays logos. If you haven't watched the Bisons video of the setup check it out. They showed some during the game last night

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 I have to believe they can do something. Even if they have to build a temporary structure to place it. I would be fine with an even more aerial view as long as it’s centered.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Was it really absolutely necessary to paint Blue Jays everywhere, including the elevator doors?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Why wouldn't it be of any benefit to the Bisons? It is mostly built in the concourse and borrowed from the Rogers Centre. I thought they would come out of it with at least a second medical table or a players lounge...but nope.

Well it was slapped up in literally days, they improved the field and lights amongst others, there was no room to improve in other facets of the structure, c'mon?!

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Was it really absolutely necessary to paint Blue Jays everywhere, including the elevator doors? That's almost certainly a vinyl decal, and they probably have a good stock of those in Toronto, and it doesn't take much to order more (or have them installed).

43211234 Verified Member Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Watching a whole game tonight I got used to it. I'd still like something less wide but the broadcast was still well produced given the circumstances.
