He went 100 pitches just 9 times in the past 2 years. His max is like 105. He is a not a horse to be ridden.

You are aware of his prior injury history right? Why risk it in having Ryu throw an extra 15+ pitches and potentially be taken out midway through the inning. We'll get 100+ pitches from Ryu when we need it, no point to it in this game.

Dolis had 2 balls crushed. I trusted Ryu a lot more than Dolis in the 7th. Ryu didn't have to finish the 7th. We're ultra conservative.

We're 5 and 8 not 8 and 5. This game is very important. 2 runs is not a safe lead. Ryu topped out at 116 pitches last year. We got lucky with Dolis. 2 balls hit hard could have easily lead to runs.
