TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 why is Ryu coming out of the game? Would be much more egregious to leave him in
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 What was Ryu pitch count? Why so conservative? How else is Montoyo going to burn through Doleese, Romano, and Tony Bass in one game?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Ryu at 92 pitches is probably a good time to take him out. If this is 2-3 weeks from now, then that's a different story.

Ok 92 pitches in the 6th, that's fair. I wasn't paying attention to what he was at. Hopefully he goes Cole, Romano, Bass to try to finish it.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 How else is Montoyo going to burn through Doleese, Romano, and Tony Bass in one game? And then use that as an excuse not to use them tomorrow even though there's an off-day following it.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Would be much more egregious to leave him in 4th start of the year one run 2 hits 7Ks.....He's not a young kid you want to build confidence. He's a horse you want to ride. Terrible decision.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Bo's been making up for his one awful inning, also a nice job by Vlad.
Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 12, 2020 Author Posted August 12, 2020 Who said earlier ITT Bo wasnt a good SS??
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 vlad getting a miguel cabrera comp but instead becomes daric barton

Terrible decision. He went 100 pitches just 9 times in the past 2 years. His max is like 105. He is a not a horse to be ridden.

Terrible decision. You are aware of his prior injury history right? Why risk it in having Ryu throw an extra 15+ pitches and potentially be taken out midway through the inning. We'll get 100+ pitches from Ryu when we need it, no point to it in this game.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 What are these guys saying Dolis does not look good? Everything is hit hard.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Good stuff from the defense.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Probably the best play I have seen Grich make in CF,
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Probably the best play I have seen Grich make in CF, Have to agree.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Smashing his 96 FB right at the defense
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Probably the best play I have seen Grich make in CF, I was just thinking that, the guy definitely doesn't make himself known in the outfield, for better and for worse.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Terrible? There is that Internet hyperbole. Dolis had 2 balls crushed. I trusted Ryu a lot more than Dolis in the 7th. Ryu didn't have to finish the 7th. We're ultra conservative.

We're 5 and 8 not 8 and 5. This game is very important. 2 runs is not a safe lead. Ryu topped out at 116 pitches last year. We got lucky with Dolis. 2 balls hit hard could have easily lead to runs.
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Andrew Cuomo and Geddy lee in the Audience...look a little lifeless.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Panik is 0-3 with 2 K's, but those AB's were about as professional as you will ever see.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Is it just me or has Cervelli been butchering a bunch of regular pitches behind the plate? He's been losing his pitchers a fair bit of strikes.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Joe Panik should not play anymore period. Release him and call up a backup infielder with speed.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Some really good at bats from Jansen today.
