No major update today on Vlad's potential demotion to Indy ball as there was no game. Virtual scouts have told us he was seen in Buffalo, so has not been sent to Indy ball yet.

Are there any publicly accessible vantage points in Buffalo where you can see into the field?? Maybe somebody caught batting practice and can tell us whether Vladdy was hitting fly balls in batting practice or just grounders.

As far as "crap that really needs to die" this whole shtick of yours is only slightly below Aceueki and the now thankfully dead Guriababip.

He was hitting bombs in batting practice. Always does. It just doesn't translate to the game (yet)

Disagree. We need to stay on top of this Vlad thing which is a very dynamic situation.

Send him to yoga class to fix that anterior pelvic tilt!

That ass arrives in the room several seconds after the front of his body.

Quintessential Vlad Jr tonight. Three groundouts, two of them sharply hit, one of them f***ing 113 mph. If he hits that on a line it leaves the park. Throw in a lazy flyball on a meatball pitch and you’ve got yourself some rice and beans, baby.

Prescription: send him to Buffalo for some mental rehab.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad we have some high class intellectuals to monitor the board. I'm very sad you don't like my shtick but blame King, he is the one who brought up the idea of sending Vlad to Indy ball, not me.

Baby steps. Let's get the elevation up just enough to see those 115 mph grounders become singles off the wall. Haven't seen one of those yet this year.

This is why I mentioned that at some point he'll need to start hitting to all fields, if he can't fix the launch angle thing. Needs to spread out the defense so there's a better chance for the 115 mph grounders to get through.

I concede this is an annoying thread, but It's more the reality that is annoying than the thread.

I'm rooting for Vlad as much as anyone.

Everyone knew Vlad had a ground ball problem. You'd think the organization and Vlad would have done everything they could over the winter to fix it. However he comes back in 2020 an even more extreme ground ball hitter? Whatever was done to address the problem, made it worse, at least in the short term.

Only 16 games, hopefully there is improvement over the next 44.

Vlad will break new ground making the HOF based upon:

1. Prodigious ground ball exit velocity

2. Home Run Derby prowess

3. Father's induction

Just kidding. Looking forward to seeing this kid figure it out. Fingers crossed.

Fatty Guerrero now with the lowest OPS on the team, which means heÂ’s the worst hitter as well. We need better production from the 1st baseman. CanÂ’t have that position OPSing under .800 not to mention under .600. WhatÂ’s really concerning is the at bats donÂ’t even look remotely competitive. He looks totally outmatched by MLB pitching. Maybe Fatty is a bust after all.

Chicago Dogs were penciling him in to the lineup tomorrow... however that homerun he just hit probably buys him a few more days.

Apparently Chicago dogs are selling tickets and allowing socially distant fans to come to the games.

A little off topic but just to cheer everyone up I present the career rate stats of 2 guys who are not going to be sent to the Indy ball Chicago Dogs in the next week.

Fernando "Generational Talent" Tatis - vs Bo "Bo Bo" Bichette

.320 .388 .620 ---- .320 .365 .588

What, .268 .333 .430 doesn't get you fired up?

Well, no, this is just laughably wrong.

Grichuck, Shaw, Jansen, Tellex, McGuire, Panik, Alford, Drury and Espinal all have a lower OPS than Vladdy.

I mean, be an assshole if that's what gets you off, but don't be an INCORRECT *******.

He was lying but you're not entirely correct either. Shaw, Jansen and Tellez all have a higher OPS. The rest are all below Vlad.

The guy's post might have been pre-homer, at which point Vlad's OPS may have been the lowest of every starter on the team.

Quite possible.

Fangraphs apparently updated their numbers after I posted that.

See above, Fangraphs was not updated until after my post, so unless they updated it once after the homer, and then again this morning (which would be... just odd) then nope.

Also, the newest update puts him ahead of LGJ, for whatever that's worth.

Fangraphs has a live updates line. MLB Gameday updates stats including OPS during games.

Just saying, if you glanced at the lineup on Gameday during the game but before the home run by Vlad, his OPS might have been the worst in the lineup.

He was actually ahead of all those guys before yesterday's game. Just need to do date range select on Fangraphs.

He dropped from 6th best OPS to 8th after last night's game.

How about that lazy play at first yesterday where he somehow thought the ball was in his glove?

"Ball popping out of glove" doesn't scream "lazy" to me. He's not super used to a first baseman's glove. It's s***, but suggesting that if he'd only put in more effort he could have closed his glove better seems like just grasping for something to fault him with.
