Understandable logic. The other argument is you, me, and a bunch of friends can try super hard and do whatever it takes to beat the Yankees in an elimination game. Doesn't mean we are good enough.

 

This is very true too. Though I think our likelihood of success would increase, even just a little bit, if the Yankees were throwing someone out there with just 12 innings of information to go on for the year.

I like the Twins to stay alive today. Not enough to pick them, but they are at home, have a good offense, and who knows what Severino will show up with.

I think there are legit reasons to pick just about any of the 8 teams today tbh:

 

Rays: backs against the wall at home with their best pitcher

Astros: best team in baseball against a clear 2nd tier wildcard team with their 3rd ace on the mound

Twins: At home with their good offence against Severino who might still be in spring training form

Yankees: They just outclass the twins, if Severino is not terrible they should outslug them

Nats: Strasburg and Scherzer will probably pitch a combined perfect game

Dodgers: Probably the weakest pick of the day, but you can't sleep on that offence and Rich Hill could always pitch a gem

Braves: Dallas Keuchel on short rest is not encouraging to me at all. Maybe this is the weakest pick of the day actually

Cards: I have watched the whole series and still don't even know who is on the team. Can Goldschmidt carry them??

Yeah the Cards v Barves both don't look good, so that one's about even. Dakota Hudson is an Aaron Sanchez type and Keuchel on short rest is who the f*** knows.

 

I think the Rays - Astros is about even.
