WTF was all that?

Miscommunication, Teoscar got a brutal read but then made up some ground and they got to a point where one of them had to dive but neither had enough time to call the play. I think Grichuk gets that if he's allowed to keep running.

That replay should not have taken half as much time as it did. It's obvious from the first two views that McGuire didn't do anything wrong, and even if you believe that he did you can make that call in 15 seconds.

I just dont understand why Billy a McKinney is getting at bats. Why isnt Fisher starting if he is such a great young player

it's his birthday.....they asked him what he wanted and he said I don't want to face Buehler!

Because Atkins just won't admit defeat in the Happ trade, although Drury has 25 man potential.

Stop shaking your head Rowdy, that was clearly a strike. I know it's early since his return but Tellez seems like your typical AAAA player.

It was clearly a strike BUT was also a relatively unhittable pitch (97 mph right on the inside edge). I agree, he should not shake his head to suggest it was inside. Just suck it up and move on.

Wow Rowdy, that's pretty awesome.

Yeah that's why you need to continue to try to develop this guy at least for a couple more years. Massive power and could be a big 1B/DH bat

The Bichette-Guerrero DP combination is a thing of beauty. That wouldn't have been possible without the shift being a mainstay in today's game, so we should all be grateful for the nerds that thought it up.

The massive power is great, but it needs to come with either excellent plate discipline or consistent hard contact. Tellez has done neither of those two things right now, and as a player who provides negative value on the field and on the bases he really needs it to be a successful hitter which is his only calling card.

yeah he only has 6.0 % BB rate this season. He needs to triple that and then he will be a weapon. On the plus side: his UZR/150 is -14.3 in 134 innings in 2018 but is +5.1 in 309 innings in 2019. So maybe not a defensive liability at 1B ?

Hard to say with the sample size being so small, but I guess when you have someone with his body type you consider it a success is he's anywhere near below-average at worst or average in a dream scenario.

I realized tonight that Tellez looks noticeably less 'fat' than Guerrero Jr. So if that is the criteria; just let them both play and see what happens.

Tellez has always had relatively high BB% and relatively low K% for a power hitter. I'm not sure he needs an 18% BB rate to be good, but he does need to close the gap. 8-9% BB and 18-20% K would really make things interesting.
