Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Jansen kind of killed Boshers in that AB, uncharacteristically so. Some borderline pitches which he didn't attempt to bring back up.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 So now Bichette has another hat hanging moment by taking one of the best starting pitchers in history deep in his first AB against him, sprinkle in a few MLB records and you have several life long achievements in less than a month.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Man, Kershaw is a real soft tosser now.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Hernandez might have been able to beat Smoak to 1st himself.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Bo and Vlad had great ABs first go around against Kershaw
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 SRF against the Dodgers seems like a bad outcome waiting to happen.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 SRF against the Dodgers seems like a bad outcome waiting to happen. At least it's a big park. He might be hard to square up well enough to leave this place at night.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 At least it's a big park. He might be hard to square up well enough to leave this place at night. The big park coming in handy early lol, I thought that was a bomb by Seager.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Jansen makes up for his earlier framing botchjob with another outstanding defensive effort. What a stud he's become behind the plate.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 The big park coming in handy early lol, I thought that was a bomb by Seager. Yeah, that's definitely gone in the AL East.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Man, Kershaw is a real soft tosser now. A lot of talking heads were acting like his glory days were over at the start of the year... Boy has he showed them.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Although Jansen's defense has improved a lot since last year, McGuire is clearly the better defender. I refer you to that play that Jansen just made.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Lol I take it you disagree? How about adding something as to why you think this is funny, instead of just posting lol.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Foley's velocity looks back to normal. Maybe he was throwing softer for control reasons previously?
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Derek Fisher, ladies and gentlemen.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 404 feet here at night against another lefty, that's impressive.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I refer you to that play that Jansen just made. I like Jansen's defense, but it appears (to me anyway) that McGuire is the better defender from what i've seen so far.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Who was that asian dude in the Jays dugout with the nice hematoma?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I take it you disagree? How about adding something as to why you think this is funny, instead of just posting lol. Jansen has been one of the very best defensive catchers in baseball this year, elite by every metric. McGuire looks solid too, but to say he's clearly the better defender is not right at all. Jansen has been outstanding with his throwing, blocking and especially framing. He's fantastic behind the plate.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 404 feet here at night against another lefty, that's impressive. I'm seeing 419 feet from baseball savant, but I know Statcast can at times be wonky with its distance measurements. Where are you getting 404 from?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Fisher can draw walks, has legit power, and speed.. I can see why the Jays like him. The tools are there. Whether he can put it together is the question.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Foley's velocity looks back to normal. Maybe he was throwing softer for control reasons previously? I truly believe this. Given that it didn't help at all, I'm glad to see him say f*** it and go back to sitting 93-94 where at least his mistakes might garner an extra swing and miss.
