JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Trending upward from being the worst starting pitcher in the league, is still pretty close to being the worst starting pitcher in the league. I mean in his last start as a BlueJay Sanchez still gave up 4 runs. He may not have walked anyone, but his velo was quite down and after the first few innings he was giving up hits. I'm happy Blister Head is gone.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2019 Author Posted August 4, 2019 Can’t stop watching this! The perfect representation of our trade deadline.

I just hope we are not seeing the beginnings of the 'Curse of the Sanchizo' Is it likely? (NO). Is Boras a f***ing bastard? YES. Are the Jays better off without Sanchez (let's see what Fisher does besides making a f***ing joke of himself on a routine fly ball).
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2019 Posted August 4, 2019 I didn't watch the game. Did he lose or in the lights or something or was it just a straight f*** up?

Did he lose or in the lights or something or was it just a straight f*** up? it was in the bottom of the 1st (about 7:30 PM) so it was still pretty much still full daylight and the lights should not have been an issue (as far as I know) - just a mistake. You can see him closing his glove a split second too early and simply missing the ball in the process. It reminds me of the old rule they always taught the kids to use 2 hands to catch the ball. Had Fisher done that , the ball would have hit his throwing hand instead of his face.

Probably already thinking about which base to throw to, before completing the catch.

It is kind of heartbreaking the more one thinks about it (luckily it seems a minor incident and he will get back on the horse soon). As I posted earlier I hope he can shake this setback off and prove Ross right on this one. Count me on TEAM FISHER!

Count me on TEAM FISHER! what bothered me more than fisher looking like a little leaguer was hearing they didn't even call the twins back before making the Stroman trade. The twins balked at giving up one of lewis or kirilloff, but they had a lot of other intriguing prospects and maybe we would have got a third piece. You'd think you'd want that information, even if it was to try and use it as leverage to try and get more out of the Mets. The Stroman deal didn't happen in the final minutes. The deal was done early.

Atkins said he went back to all interested teams to see if they'd beat there offer, Levine said they didn't, who do you believe, the guy trading the asset who didn't have anything to lose, or the guy who swung and missed at the deadline and under scrutiny of not getting rotation help? Hmmm...

Hmmm... I don't believe a word that comes out of Atkins mouth. How did Atkins not have anything to lose? There were tons of media reports following the deal from outsiders that said they were underwhelmed by return.

He got his best assets/offer, he had nothing to lose at the time and pulled the trigger. As for the media reports show me tons of media reports, you keep saying this but I can't find it?

He said he went back to the interested parties, which could have easily meant the parties on their short list that didn't include the twins. There's zero reason for Levine to jeopardize his reputation by making a bold face lie. It's highly possible neither lied. I absolutely don't think they went back to the twins. As for there being reports people in the industry were underwhelmed, you should look into these little companies google and twitter. It's out there.

Didn't include the Twins, lol. Peace out, mate. Agree to disagree.
