Not necessarily.. The base runner is responsible in making sure the ball hits the ground before advancing. Rivera is a complete moron in waving him before the ball hit the ground, but he may have thought Teo veered off too far to make it back anyway if the ball was caught. The Drury AB was really disappointing as it looked like he didn't have hitting the ball the other way on his mind.

They took a risk that if it falls they take the lead on a ball that wasn’t routine. I’m ok with that aggressiveness. If it falls and he holds at 2nd Hernández likely doesn’t advance any further than 3rd at best and potentially doesn’t advance at all.
