This might serve to make vlad a better hitter long term

Yeah, he's still so young, it'd be dumb to worry. But it definitely hasn't been the start we were all expecting. Let's remember though, even Trout came up and struggled initially.

Hopefully the big guy can turn it around soon and end the season on a high note.

He's learned from the Jedi master himself. I didn't see a lot of Craig Biggio growing up with him being in the national league and cable TV and all, but damn, his stat page is a thing of beauty.

And just as I type this, another walk:cool:

Yeah, his dad had the exact same understanding of the game. I remember pretty well with all the Sportsline highlights (loved that show 11:30pm on Global). Houston was shown a lot on Nation wide games like MNB and the game of the week on Saturday afternoons) which also helped.

Amen. His baseball IQ is what I remember most about him too. Fangraphs has him listed at 5'11 185 pounds, but I think that might be a little rich, the guy didn't have the typical baseball body but he made the most of his ability.

***Edit***

Just checked his rookie card, had him at 5'11 180, so I guess the listing is accurate. I guess guys just look a little smaller on TV, especially in the steroid era

I wonder how much longer of a rope Vlad Jr has. Batting practice is one thing but hes just not major league ready on either side of the ball.

To think all the Arm Chair GMs blasted Shatkins for keeping him down.

I don't trust most of the listed player size much. They have Cavan weighing in at 203 lbs. That's hilarious, he's lucky to be 180 lbs. I was sitting right behind home plate a few rows back on Canada Day and saw him close up.

Biggio is such a beauty.

Yeah he really is. Biggio and Bichette are my favorite young players. Even if Vladdy hits like a young Pujlos, the other two have will still be my top two.

Isn't it great when life so eloquently tells you to see your optometrist?

Biggio 180 pounds? Are you okay?

Biggio with another excellent plate appearance. I love watching him work the pitcher and take anything slightly off the plate.

He'd probably average 130 walks a year with a robotic strike zone.
