DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Vlad is not hitting like anyone thought but he's 20. He'll be fine.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 This might serve to make vlad a better hitter long term Yeah, he's still so young, it'd be dumb to worry. But it definitely hasn't been the start we were all expecting. Let's remember though, even Trout came up and struggled initially. Hopefully the big guy can turn it around soon and end the season on a high note.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 He's learned from the Jedi master himself. I didn't see a lot of Craig Biggio growing up with him being in the national league and cable TV and all, but damn, his stat page is a thing of beauty. And just as I type this, another walk:cool: Yeah, his dad had the exact same understanding of the game. I remember pretty well with all the Sportsline highlights (loved that show 11:30pm on Global). Houston was shown a lot on Nation wide games like MNB and the game of the week on Saturday afternoons) which also helped.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Teo adds to an already fantastic night.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I'd be sitting on the curveball here for sure

Fangraphs has him listed at 5'11 185 pounds, but I think that might be a little rich, the guy didn't have the typical baseball body but he made the most of his ability. ***Edit*** Just checked his rookie card, had him at 5'11 180, so I guess the listing is accurate. I guess guys just look a little smaller on TV, especially in the steroid era
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 f***kkkkkkk... was hoping for at least a run there
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 I wonder how much longer of a rope Vlad Jr has. Batting practice is one thing but hes just not major league ready on either side of the ball.

That's hilarious, he's lucky to be 180 lbs. I was sitting right behind home plate a few rows back on Canada Day and saw him close up.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Biggio is such a beauty. Yeah he really is. Biggio and Bichette are my favorite young players. Even if Vladdy hits like a young Pujlos, the other two have will still be my top two.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Vlad is a dead man walking right now

Isn't it great when life so eloquently tells you to see your optometrist?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Nice blast Gurriel. Anybody notice who is still sticking in the MLB? Lol..
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Pitching to Vladito makes pitchers hang them to other hitters for sure

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Biggio 180 pounds? Are you okay? There's no way he's more than 190.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Another walk vs a LHP for Biggio tonight. Great AB's.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Biggio with another excellent plate appearance. I love watching him work the pitcher and take anything slightly off the plate.
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted July 18, 2019 Posted July 18, 2019 Biggio is definately here to stay. Such a professional approach
