Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 yeah seems it is still used, but not nearly to the extent like it was say 20 years ago. probably just a result of the newer philosophy in hitting that is less situational in manner I've rarely seen it this year, just bunt. I despise it. Although it hasn't happened recently.

Yeah bunt is generally not a good idea (unless you are Billy Hamilton); although may in limited situations make sense (such as the pitcher coming up to bat with a man at 1st and less than 2 outs). As far as the hit and run: f*** I hate seeing my team hit into a 'ground into double play', so maybe I am a bit biased towards that one.

Agreed, the bunt is fine late in games with someone soft AB, the hit and run rocks with a contact hitter.
spats Verified Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 I've said this time and again, I use em for comedy relief. Same goes for other teams. Did you catch Buck calling Gurriel Guerrero a couple times. To be fair , they both start with G. This was just after Vladdy's home run.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 Apparently I did make it on to TV. Was sitting next to this Canadian couple and the girl was holding a "Glad to see Vlad" sign. I'll be damned if I'm going to pour through 3.5 hours of the game to find it though.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 My sister , brother n law and nephew will be at the game today. It is my nephews birthday.. He is a Rockies fan though... Hopefully he has fun...
