Not only will I put my perfect 4-0 GDT record on the line. I'm calling relaxed Vlad's first HR in the majors.

If I don't get one or the other I'll ban Boxy on the day of JimCanuck's choosing.

I actually have money on the White Sox already lol

Betting on the Jays @ 1.50 odds seems like a bad time.

Dude I was 1-0 from yesterday :( if we lose....

and you'll still be 1-0 from yesterday at the end of the game. When I got the message from the baseball gods, and I had to post it.

On a more personal note; I will be spending 2 hours + in a car with JPA and Ricky Romero tonight. Anyone have anything they want answered that won't risk my position on a professional basis?

Actually, in this scenario, most of my questions would be for you... This seems like a very random thing to have happen.

I am on the board for the Swift Current 57's and they are speaking at our fundraiser tonight (decision made before I was on the board although it seems like this is the first time they actually brought in baseball players, in the past it has been CFLer's). I will be driving them back to their hotel in Regina and they fly out tomorrow morning.

The Swift Current 57’s Baseball Club would like to announce that this year’s Field of Dreams Dinner, presented by Innovation Credit Union, is set to take place Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Swift Current.

The Committee is excited to announce that this the event will feature a couple of former Toronto Blue Jays, JP Arencibia & Ricky Romero.

Arencibia was a fan favorite in Toronto from 2010-2013 as the Blue Jays starting catcher. He was drafted in the 1st Round by the Blue Jays in 2007 with the 21st pick. He excelled in the minor league system for the Blue Jays for 3 years collecting the Triple A Pacific Coast League MVP Award in 2010. Arencibia had one of the most memorable Major League debut's in the history of baseball when he went 4-5 including 2 home runs in his first ever game in the Majors. In 2013 he was named as a catcher for team USA at the World Baseball Classic. He spent 2014 & 2015 with the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays before retiring. He now spends time as a baseball broadcaster with the Miami Marlins.

Joining Arencibia at this year’s event will be Ricky Romero. After a standout career at Cal State Fullerton where he won the 2004 College World Series, Romero was drafted 6th overall by the Toronto Blue Jays and was the first pitcher drafted in the 2005 MLB Draft. In 2009 Romero made the Blue Jays rotation out of Spring Training and was a Rookie of the year candidate and slotted himself in the #2 spot in the rotation behind Roy Halladay. He had another great season in 2010 and was rewarded with a 5-year extension by the Blue Jays. 2011 was a special season for Romero culminating in a selection to the MLB All-Star Game that summer. Romero compiled over 50 wins in his Blue Jays career from 2009-2013 and officially retired from baseball in January of 2019. He currently spends his time in Hermosa Beach, California with his wife, Kara Lang, former Canadian soccer star and their son. Romero will be joining the Blue Jays Single A affiliate, Vancouver Canadians for 6 Games this coming season as a color commentator and participates in several charity events for the Blue Jays around the country.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 7:00pm. There will also be live and silent auctions at the end of the evening. Tickets are $80 for single seats or $600 for a corporate table of eight. If you are interested in purchasing tickets or a table, please contact Brad Woods at 772-0471 or by email at brad.woods@sasktel.net.

*** The Field of Dreams is a major supporter of our Swift Current Baseball Club. Some of their most significant projects in support of the ball club include most recently a partnership with the City of Swift Current in the building of a team clubhouse that will be available for the 2019 season. Other projects include, batting cage refurbishing, installation of the light standards, stadium seating at Mitchell Field as well as new uniforms and equipment on a scheduled renewal plan. If you have any additional questions or require comments about the dinner please do not hesitate to contact Committee Chair, Brad Woods at 772-0471

Ask if J.P. would give Radio Scouts Podcast a shoutout on his show.

Does Boxy get something if you get one or both?

Also for JPA, maybe ask him about his time with the Rangers & Rays, if there are any differences compared to his time in Toronto.

Holy f*** what an absolute missile. 118.9 mph EV, that's upper echelon.

Second hardest hit ball in baseball this season. Stanton hit 120.
