So elephant in the room, the broadcast has been missing the strikezone + velocity box since like the third inning. What gives guys? They really should have a backup plan for when this happens so they at least display the velocity on the score box.

Agreed, although it's possible their feed from MLB is completely down or something.

I find it kinda nice. That ball shows outside the box and the ump calls a strike and people are screaming bloody murder when in fact the ball might have missed by an inch...umping isn't easy. I haven't heard any complaints about the strike zone tonight..lol

I don't understand why they purchased the contract of Sogard over Biggio. Biggio is much older than Bo and Vlad. Would have been a good time to advance him and get him established at this level.

Biggio has a great approach and takes his walks. They don't want the rest of the scrubs to get self conscious being shown up by a young player.

I can live without the strikezone, it's the lack of velocity that I find egregious not to have anywhere on a modern broadcast.

Because we actually care about Biggio, the team might think he needs some more development at AAA, he's only been there for a couple of weeks. He obviously has flaws that they'd like to work on as well as continue to develop his positional versatility without the spotlight of the MLB.

Small sample, but something might be up with Galvis. He's had 7 barrels already this season and it's only midway through April. Last season in total, he had 18. His exit velos are also up quite a bit.

For the same reason Vladdy is (and was) going to be pushed back, except it's less clear Biggio is ready for the jump. You still want that extra year of control.

Has anyone looked at any film to see if theres any differences, Cant say I was familiar with Galvis at all before he got here.

all players have flaws, but what the glaring weaknesses to Biggio's game? What does he need to improve before he gets a call up so he can manage to compete with the guys like Drury, sogard and hanson?
