TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Meditation is becoming a huge part of baseball now and the Jays are slowly introducing it (Rays and Cubs it is mandatory with the Cubs making it mandatory at every level). If Stroman is buying in and taking it few steps further it can only help his pitching. We know he has the talent, he appears to need his mental game fine tuned. So if hanging out with spiritual people helps him...I have zero issue with it.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 I thought he was speaking with his chef. Is that some sort of meditation term I'm not familiar with? He was but she is obviously very "spiritual" or she wouldn't say s*** like that. The team has started optional meditation sessions this year. I am saying that I'd like to see Stroman buy-in and being around spiritual people should help with that. Channel through his chef, his gardener, his personal asst...I don't care but I think he needs this or something like this.

He completely would buy into it....but he'd find a way to spin it into his brand and make it about him.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Has anyone tweeted this to him? Correction.... I wonder how many thousands have already tweeted this to him.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I sincerely hope someone tweeted this at Stroman.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) Worth noting is that Stroman only got 4.1% of the votes. Kevin Keirmeier getting votes pretty much means that there are many jealous men in baseball 5. Who is the most overrated player? Top result: Bryce Harper, Phillies (62%) Runners-up: Marcus Stroman (4.1%) Also receiving multiple votes: Giancarlo Stanton, Jayson Heyward, Kevin Kiermaier, Manny Machado, Noah Syndergaard, Gary Sánchez In their own words: On Harper: “Especially now.” “It’s marketing. It’s star power. But what has he done besides have one year?” Notes: The results here are unsurprising, considering that players overwhelmingly voted for Harper last year as well … and that was before he signed a $330 million contract. Also receiving single votes: “All the prospects” and “Bernie the Brewer” (no explanation given). It's a fun poll I will post into the Around Baseball thread. Edited March 26, 2019 by TheHurl

Kevin Keirmeier getting votes pretty much means that there are many jealous men in baseball 5. Who is the most overrated player? Top result: Bryce Harper, Phillies (62%) Runners-up: Marcus Stroman (4.1%) I think 4.1% is huge. That's 10% out of everyone who didn't vote for Harper. Especially considering that Stroman is a pretty forgettable ball player playing in the city that MLB players are supposedly overlooked. What I'm trying to get at is Stroman should not come up in people's minds as "top" anything, except maybe short pitchers. The fact that a substantial amount of players actually thought of Stroman instead of some random Yankee or Dodger player indicates to me he really does rub people the wrong way, even in opposing clubhouses (possibly his own clubhouse too lol).
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I sincerely hope someone tweeted this at Stroman. Also yes, for nothing more than hope it gives this guy some extra motivation to give it 138960534064% this year and become a valuable trade piece or the ace of a team that surprises itself into a playoff spot.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I'd have gone with guys like Eric Hosmer, Sal Perez, Albert Pujols, Adam Jones, Rougned Odor, etc. Is Stroman overrated? Seems like plenty of people think he sucks. He's probably underrated if anything. Basically, I think the answers to this question fit a different one: which player annoys you the most?
