Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 This is why Khris Davis doesn't play the OF. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/khris-davis-oakland-the-creature
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Khris Davis is really bad in the outfield bro. lol... point taken, but comparing his fwar to MIF doesn't sit right with me.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Is Nick Anderson any bueno en el juego de pelota? 9.2IP, 20 Ks Looks that way Ang.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 lol... point taken, but comparing his fwar to MIF doesn't sit right with me. Why not? Is there anything about fWAR that makes it inherently bad for comparing value provided by players of different positions?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 (edited) Why not? Is there anything about fWAR that makes it inherently bad for comparing value provided by players of different positions? Yeah, I guess it wouldn't, does anyone know the value of a Win now, is it in the 9m range per? EDIT: Anyone? Edited April 20, 2019 by Spanky99
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Darvish 1st 3 batter today: Single, HR, HR

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Darvish 9 balls in a row against 7,8 y 9th hitters Still not SRF bad.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Darvish 9 balls in a row against 7,8 y 9th hitters Did he hit anyone in the cock?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 lol... point taken, but comparing his fwar to MIF doesn't sit right with me. WAR is WAR, it is meant to compare player, even though we know that players aren't paid by WAR. I love Khrush, and think it's great that he wants to stay in Oakland. But the deal itself was very fair, and I was pointing out that people's reaction to the deal is based more on Fantasy perceptions to reality. If you believe in fWAR (and I do) than those names I mentioned are the people in Khrush's real life comparables over the past 4 years. P.S. Judge left today's game with what might be an oblique injury

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I wonder if the Pirates are good. They have a lot of talent that is coming quickly. Cole Tucker dinger in first game. Reynolds could be good. Ke'Bryan Hayes is lurking (probably better than Kang already with just the glove factored in). 5 competent SPs so far and Burdi/Vasquez at the back. My team, bro... they also lost 2 games on a cross up 2 nights straight, ughhh.
tbad Verified Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Angels are such a bad team... Pujols is the worst contract of all time.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Why are they saying soon, I've read the second week in May at the earliest. Weird.
tbad Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Yelich has activated god-mode in his real-life video game.
tbad Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Was any signing more baffling / confusing / dumbfounding than Eric Hosmer's??? I mean Pujols was bad but nobody could have predicted such massive decline so quickly... Hosmer's has to be the absolute dumbest big contract signing of all time. No defense + no legs + fluky BABIP season = mega contract
tbad Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Trout must not care at all about being on a winning team to sell himself out for a decade of loserville...

BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 And.. Aaron Judge exits game with oblique injury. Their injured list can field an A ball rehab roster.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Yelich has activated god-mode in his real-life video game. 13 home runs already Torrid pace Only one shy of the before-May 1 HR record set by Pujols and ARod. With 9 games left in April.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Is Lewis Brinson broken? There must be a few people within the Marlin's FO who cry in the corner of their office on a daily basis.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Is Lewis Brinson broken? There must be a few people within the Marlin's FO who cry in the corner of their office on a daily basis. I think they were trying to overhaul his swing this spring. He's still only 24 though, still time to work things out. He might be a guy who needs to go to a different organization to get fixed (like the Rays).

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Was Lewis Brinson ever any good? Why anyone would’ve accepted him as a return for anything is beyond me Yes, he just hasn't figured it out at the major league level yet. When he was traded, he was a top 20 prospect in the same tier as guys like Albies, Devers, Frazier, Gleyber Torres, Adames, etc.
onwego Verified Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 listening to the Dodgers/Brewers game while at the office today. Birthday Boy Joc Pederson led off with a home run and has hit another in the 4th, and a single in the second so far....
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Jose Leclerc is on the verge of imploding against Houston in the 9th. Four walks in the inning. Bases loaded, two outs. It's 11-10 for Texas. Leclerc is now being removed. Edit: Shawn Kelley struck out Robinson Chirinos to close it out. What a finish!
