gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2019 Posted August 2, 2019 Fischer batting 8th and Jansen 9th is f***ing stupid. You put the s***** hitting - fast running player batting ninth every time. If he gets on leading off an inning, you can unleash the hounds.

ItsMeMario Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 What a salty bitch lol .... reason why you were not offer an extension is because you are a distraction and they wanted you far away from Guerrero
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 (edited) Like I said before, Stro was a cancer to the front office. Nothing but a little s*** disturber stuck with the small man syndrome. Good riddance. Edited August 3, 2019 by JaysAllMighty

M.E. Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 They wanted him gone. Everyone has their own unique situation and he clearly was not wanted and he should have seen the writing 9n the wall based on they never talked to him. Dude is bitter because he was ghosted.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 It's a fine point and largely fits into my argument that there's a spectrum of GM capability and there's almost a guaranteed floor or replacement level of return that *any* GM can get. For example, there's the Archer trade, which occurred after the supposed market crash, which is truly exceptional. So we know that you can't possibly heap the same amount of praise on Shatkins that you can on TB's FO (who also got Pham for nothing). So if there is a comment about how no one can expect a better rebuild than what Shatkins has provided, they're wrong. Even Jerry DiPoto got some nice value this off-season. Kelenic, Dunn, JP Crawford. And Carlos Santana as a throw-in. The Dodgers are not even rebuilding but traded one year of Wood/Puig for Josiah Gray and Jeter Downs. The Rangers got a 50 FV for a AAA reliever. The Giants got a 45+ for the corpse of Drew Pomeranz and a 29 year old RP. I don't think we've acquired a single 50 FV in all our trades. Although I would argue SWR should be a 50 and almost certainly will be next year. But at that point, how much worse of a return can you get? Any GM can trade a good player and get a 40-45 back, can't they? People are pointing to our core, but we traded multiple big league assets and none of the returns are in that core of Vlad, Jansen, Bichette, etc. If you want to talk about drafting, it's different. As Shatkins has clearly done an above average job there IMO. Fair points; however: 1. Almost everyone thought Pittsburgh stole Archer from TB. He's young and signed well below his value. 2. I believe most also thought Seattle got ripped off in the Cano/Diaz deal. Very similar to the Archer trade. That said, getting Kelenic and Dunn has turned out pretty awesome. 3. Wood + Puig likely had similar value to Stro. They got Jeter (45 FV) and Josiah Gray (50 FV). MLB.com had Kay and SWR both as 50 FV players...... I'll admit Pham for nothing was amazing. TB front office is on another level. If #1 and #2 are any indication....hopefully the tables will turn on this universally horrible deal for Stroman as quick as it did on the Archer and Cano/Diaz deals.

TheOutsider Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Ryan Borucki to see Dr. James Andrews for a consultation on his elbow. I know he had TJS once before but IIRC he had another elbow issue prior to this one as well did he not? Well then, that was a short major league career.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I wish they optioned Borucki and had him pitch in AAA to see if he was actually healthy. Now more service time is getting wasted. Felt like they rushed him back to begin with. Didn’t really get much of a chance to build up on that rehab stint.

Ex Player Verified Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Simeon Woods Richardson didnt do well last night in his Dunedin debut. He pitched 3.2 innings, gave up 1 hit, 3 ER's, 4 walks but 5 K's on 64 pitches. So clearly he had control issues, which is unusual for him. You also have to remember he's only 18

I don’t even mind his social media persona because that’s what sells with youth nowadays and lord knows MLB could use some younger fans. But him endorsing Keith Law’s vendetta and race baiting is not cool. I think there is a lot of systematic racism still alive in sports today but a white douchebag like Law has no business being the one to try to bring attention to it, especially when he’s basing it off a quote where he doesn’t know the source and is assuming the context. Stroman should have known better.

Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Didn't think this front office would make a move like this. I love it.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Didn't think this front office would make a move like this. I love it. I'm assuming he'll take the role of an opener/bulk guy or long man out of the 'pen? His numbers in AA aren't very flashy so while even though he can start I'm not sure it would be best that he does, unless the team knows something that we don't.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 I'm actually surprised Diaz, Murphy, and Perez have been in AA for so long considering they are on the 40 man. They haven't been dominating AA, that's probably why, but I figured they'd promote them quicker to have some added depth. I guess AA to MLB is one way.

Murphy was doing outstanding in AA but with the whole reworking his illegal delivery thing that halted his development and a likely promotion.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2019 Posted August 3, 2019 Pipeline scouting report makes it sound like he's a reliever long term. Numbers in AA as a SP not that great. Might as well see what he has in a multi inning role for the rest of the year since he's on the 40 man anyway.
