jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Hello best internet friends, It's with a heavy heart i regret to inform you all that i will need to leave the BORED and BBDL leagues due to an exciting fantasy opportunity for me and my internet family (P2F). While he has not yet decided how he will move forward i have decided i will not have time to continue but would like to personally find replacements as to not burden those leagues that have been so kind to me. Both teams are playoff contenders that have not gone full Connor'd and should be in contention for the playoffs for the foreseeable future. I would like to find a caring, loving owner who will take care of my fantasy babies and be an asset to the leagues i have loved so much Please state your interest here and i will PM to discuss your qualifications. On a side note, i would happy to serve as an adviser for the first year if you need assistance in any way or i can f*** right off. Thanks friends. Love, JFL19 Ps. Go Sens Go!

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 what's this? It's a league ran by one of the co founders of prospectslive.com. It's like the LoD on crack - with salaries, buy ins, unlimited farms, ect. Should be a good time but a lot of time and effort thus the dropping of 2 leagues.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 It's a league ran by one of the co founders of prospectslive.com. It's like the LoD on crack - with salaries, buy ins, unlimited farms, ect. Should be a good time but a lot of time and effort thus the dropping of 2 leagues. This is basically everything that I've always wanted for my online life. Salary Cap/Player Salaries The salary cap for each team will be $165 million. The salary cap will increase for all teams, every 4 years, based on the real life average of the highest payroll and 10th highest payroll. The league will start with an initial player draft. Every player drafted will be paid their real life base salary (Not their cap hit). Every player that is acquired via minor league free agency will be paid their real life salaries throughout the arbitration years. Scherzer rule: All deferred money from a player real life contract that is not subtracted from his annual base salary will be spread evenly across the life of the contract. Scherzers contract was for 7yr 210m, 7 years of a base of 15m and 7 years of deferred 15m. His salary in this league is 30m per year. Stasburg's contract info states that 70m deffered is pulled from specific years and his base is what his contract would be in this league. The league does not recognize varying pre-arbitration salaries and instead pays every pre-arbitration player a flat salary of $500,000. As players go through arbitration in real life, they will go through arbitration in this league. The exception to this are players that are signed via MLB free agency. Minor leaguers will be paid a salary of $100,000. When a minor leaguer exceeds rookie limits, he will transition to a major league contract the following season and the team will be responsible for paying him $500,000. Extensions for Arbitration Players Extensions in this league are defined as real life contract extensions that occur for players in pre-arbitration/arbitration that cover at least one year of free agency. GMs have the option to accept the full extension or decline the extension. Declining the extension will result in the player becoming a free agent AFTER the upcoming season. His salary will be his real life salary for the corresponding season. There is no limit on extending players. Extensions for Pre-Arbitration Players (The Yelich Rule) If the contract is signed during the offseason, the owner can choose the contract and forgo the $500,000 pre-arb salary. If the contract is signed during the season, the owner will have to decide to: a) use a Franchise tag to honor the extension after the season. or select the extension by absorbing the new salary under their current cap within one week of the announcement. The Owner can keep the player at $500,000 until the player would have become arbitration eligible. In Yelich's case, he is arb eligible in 2017 but signed the contract in 2015. The team owner can keep Yelich at $500,000 in 2015 and 2016. HOWEVER, failure to use a franchise tag and assuming the real life contract will result in the player becoming a free agent. Arbitration Arbitration eligible players are players that have at least three full seasons of MLB service time, and less than six. The league will use the real life salaries of players that are in the arbitration phase. Arbitration salaries are generally released in mid-January and teams will be responsible for the salary. Players that sign multi-year deals in Arbitration but are not extended past their real life Free Agent year will be updated for all years that the player is signed. If a player is non-tendered in real life and signs a minor league contract, the player in this league will be paid $500,000. If a player in arbitration plays overseas in real life but remains on a league roster, that player will be paid $500,000. Super 2 Players: Due to the nature of Super 2, some players may be listed on the spreadsheet with 3 years at $500,000 and 3 years of arbitration (A1-A3). During the offseason updating of the SS, Super 2 players will be updated accordingly. Non-Tenders The Non-Tender period will occur during the MLB offseason and allows GM's to release pre-arb/arbitration players without penalty. GMs can non-tender any pre-arb player including those that signed multi-year (NON-EXTENSION) contracts. If a GM has any questions regarding the eligibility of non-tender eligible players, they are encouraged to reach out to a staff member. The deadline to non-tender players will always be Feb. 28. After that date, all arbitration salaries become locked and the GM must buy out the player if he chooses to part ways with the player. Retiring Players When a player retires, if he was acquired via inaugural draft and is being paid his real life salary, the team is not penalized and does not have to pay out the remaining contract. If the player is acquired via the FA open bidding process and retires, the team is responsible for the full contract. The reasoning behind this rule is to prevent teams from overbidding for older players. A team may know that Koji Uehara has about 2 years left but bids a 6 year deal in order to win the player. Upon retirement, the team can buy out the player and be subject to buyout penalties. In the event that a player dies, the team that owned him will not be responsible for the contract and will not be penalized a 50% buyout, even if the player was acquired through this leagues Free Agency. In the event that a player suffers a career ending injury but does not retire (Albert Belle), the staff will handle each player on a case by case basis that will determine likelihood of return, motivations of player to not retire in real life, etc. Franchise Tags Teams can retain pending free agents by applying a franchise tag. Franchise tags will result in the player being paid his real life salary. Any player can be franchised tagged. Real life pre-arbitration players, that were signed via free agency, can be tagged and will assume their real life path to free agency. Each team will have 2 Franchise tags every offseason. Team Options This league does not offer team options for players acquired via our free agent bidding process. Players that are being paid their real life contracts may have options. Player options and vesting options will be recognized by this league as Team Options. The league will recognize real life opt-out clauses as a one time option. Team options will be exercised in the offseason. GM’s can decline the team option and tag the player for restricted free agency.

King Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Proposal: fold all board leagues and start a new league with these settings
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Proposal: fold all board leagues and start a new league with these settings That would be pretty cool, but it would suck for the commissioners.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I approve of this North method of dropping teams, if you absolutely must drop teams.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Remember when J4L quit all leagues after the 19 year old dumped him (tough to forget when I keep reminding everyone). Where would he be today if he didn't find P2F? He will be tough to replace...not as a manager but as contributor.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Author Posted November 17, 2018 My Boner is ready ____ Player Acquisition Free Agency Free Agency will occur via auction on the Proboards site in the Free Agency board. GM’s can create a thread with the players name, position, and team and then submit their bid. Bids must be formatted in the following structure: Thread title: Player, Position, MLB team In thread: Years AAV Bid points Hardball uses a bid point system to determine the winning bid. GMs can use these formulas to determine their bid points. Any bid of 1-2 years has no bonus attached 3 years : 10% (multiply AAV by 1.1) 4 years: 20% (multiply AAV by 1.2) 5 years: 30% (multiply AAV by 1.3) 6 years: 40%(multiply AAV by 1.4) Each bid must top the previous Bid points by 10% Additionally, bids must also follow this format $0.5M - $0.99M 3 years MAX $1M-$5M 4 years max $5.1M-$10M 5 years max $10.1M and up 6 years max 6 years is the max length you can bid on a player. A bid is considered a win when it remains unchallenged for 24 hours. Winning a Player via Free Agency GMs have 48 hours to post a restructure of the contract and pick the player up on Fantrax during the season. Should a player not be signed on a timely basis, the winning team will be charged a buyout penalty and the player will become a free agent again. In the off season the owner must pick up the player before the season starts before being subject to a buyout penalty. Restructuring free and restricted agent contracts: AAV Deviation At no point in the contract can the AAV deviate 30%. Example: Rangers have the highest bid for Dale Murphy at 3 years $30M ($10M AAV). Rangers can restructure the contract as such: 2015: $7M, 2016: $10M 2017: $13M. Failure to do this in the 48 hour window results in the AAV spread evenly. Offseason FA vs In-Season FA The rules regarding the bidding process are the same. The difference is eligibility. During off-season FA, which will run from February until the day before Opening Day, players that do not have MLB experience, are off limits, with the exception of international free agents that signed MLB deals. During In-Season FA, any player on an MLB 25 man roster can be bid on. The 48 hour rule for picking up a player on fantrax does not apply during the off season. If you over bid for a player you will have to honor the bid. This also helps with roster available roster spots. Typically fantrax and the MLB do not updated players on the DL right away during the off season. Restricted Free Agency (RFA) RFA is a tag that GMs can use on their pending free agents. RFA will occur in January of every offseason and consists of open bidding on players that were given an RFA tag. RFA bidding will follow the same format as free agency in regards to bid points and length of contract vs AAV. After a bid remains unchallenged for 24 hours, the team that RFA tagged the player has the option to match the bid or decline. Each team is given 2 RFA tags per offseason. If a GM matches the winning bid, the only changes he can make is restructuring the AAV. GMs cannot add/subtract years to the winning bid. If a GM declines to match the winning bid, then the player will go to the winning GM. If the GM declines, compensation can be awarded if the winning bid meets the following criteria: Tier 1: If the AAV is at or over 10% of cap space (16.5M), the tagging team is awarded a first round compensatory pick based. Tier 2: If the AAV is under 10% of cap space (16.5M) and at or over 6% of cap space (9.9M), the tagging team is awarded a second round compensatory pick based. Tier 3: If the AAV is under 6% of cap space (9.9M) and at or over 4% of cap space (6.6M), the tagging team is awarded a third round compensatory pick based. Compensatory picks are awarded after contest picks with highest pick going to the team, who's tagged player received most bid points. In the event of a tie the players will be ranked alphabetically by last name A-Z. If a player is tagged and during RFA does not receive a bid, the tagging team has 2 options 1. Release the player 2. Resign the player to a 1 year deal with a 25% increase from previous season's salary Minor League Free Agency (MiLB FA) Minor League FA will run approximately mid-March to the end of the season. See the MiLB FA Board for exact dates. All players eligible for MiLB FA must not be on active MLB 25 man roster, have less than 130AB/50IP, and signed to a minor league contract. Ineligible players include but are not limited to: Players taken in the current season’s June draft, International amateurs signed in the current year's J2 class, International free agents that signed minor league contracts during the season. Minor leaguers can also be picked up on a first come/first serve basis s. HOWEVER, the caveat is that teams may pick ONLY ONE (1) player per week. If a team picks more than 1 per week, the extra players will be removed from the roster and the team will be penalized. A first offense will be suspension of picking the following week. A second offense will be suspension of picking minors for one month. Third offense is suspension of picking for the season.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2018 Author Posted November 17, 2018 Wagers Betting is encouraged and can encompass any league-asset (players, picks, tags, cap) a team owns. GMs can also wager non-league assets(real money, league fees, a night with their girlfriend). Wagers must be posted in the Wagers thread and agreed to by both parties. The commissioner will enforce payment of league-assets. I need to get BTS in this league
