He is a finalist from latest reports. He's a Stanford grad with head coaching experience (albeit not overly successful) with Pacific University. I hate that he's tied to the championship teams as it keeps the media beating that old drum, but he was smart enough to use PED's and didn't even lie about it after. Hate his **** wife though, and he named his kid Jed...so he's out in my books. I think he's a candidate for the Angels job too. I know he talked about the "written portion of the interview" which I thought was hilarious that the Angels have a written portion.

Without knowing more about him, it's really hard to say if he's a good or bad candidate. Obviously he's got a superior grasp of analytics if he's a finalist. I like that they're taking an outside the box approach.

Based on almost no information, I was least excited about David Bell, but he's off the board. Still hoping for Baldelli, with no real reason why.

To me it's between Espada and Baldelli, and don't mind either one.

Once Eric Wedge was off the board, I was pretty neutral about the candidates.

 

I don't necessarily want him hired, but I'd love to hear more about Ed Sprague and how he made it this far. He's obviously more intriguing character than you would think at first glance.
