tercet Verified Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 I don't think he has the balls to do this with Vlad, but maybe Bo Bichette. Naw no point on hating on Vlad, he has very few red flags. Bo yea for sure, he is a hacker, I already stated several times I don't think he will be a superstar, maybe a solid regular. I've seen him maybe 25 ABs of him in person this year, in Tampa, Dunedin, Reading and Manchester look meh a bunch of the time vs random AA crappy pitching.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Naw, just the ones that are destined to suck despite putting up random godly unsustainable streaks to start their mlb career (TH, SRF, LGJ). I didn't hate on Borucki or DJ this year though, tercet approved! Most players that come up from the minors have early struggles, tercet.
tercet Verified Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Most players that come up from the minors have early struggles, tercet. Most players that suck in the minors, suck in the majors. 99% of players are like this opposed to maybe the 1% that are Jose Bautista, JD Martinez, etc

You're looking for names like 2016 Aaron Sanchez, Ricky Romero, Jose Ramirez, etc.
tercet Verified Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Well Sanchez and Romero seem to be a flash in the pan.. Jose Ramirez is a freak of nature, but he is just another swing change guy right?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Hey tercet, are we going to do this for every guy that comes up from the minors? He’s going to focus on the 40-45 FV guys. The ones no one really hypes up but he will still lecture us on how much they will suck.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Well Sanchez and Romero seem to be a flash in the pan.. Jose Ramirez is a freak of nature, but he is just another swing change guy right? Romero had a degenerative condition is his knees. He was looking to be on his way to being a solid #2 or #3 starter before that took effect. Sanchez we'll have to wait and see. If his finger can hold up, we'll be able to see whether he can return to being legit or sold his soul for a single year of glory.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Well Sanchez and Romero seem to be a flash in the pan.. Jose Ramirez is a freak of nature, but he is just another swing change guy right? I don't recall Ramirez being a player who revamped his swing as part of the lift and launch era. He's just drastically out performed anything he ever showed in the minors. You can call Sanchez a flash in the pan (I'd agree), but Romero was pretty good for 3 straight years (600+ innings) before both his knees blew up. His minor league numbers suggested he was s*** - so I think he falls into the category you're looking for.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 The point is, tercet, its dumb to write off every minor leaguer that comes up and has some struggles. That is the norm. Many of them turn into solid MLB'ers.

Unlike you who thinks everyone will be a superstar lol Only you would interpret "solid MLB'ers" = "superstar" Same guy that interprets 10 straight balls in spring training = guy will never make it lol
tercet Verified Member Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 Only you would interpret "solid MLB'ers" as "superstar" Do I have to go through all your posts about Aaron Sanchez posts in this forum over the last 5 years? You are among the top homers in this forum to go along with grant, lettheballfly, etc

You are among the top homers in this forum to go along with grant, lettheballfly, etc Yes, you do. You will find I predicted he would be good in 2016, and in the 2016 offseason I advocated for him to be traded. Sell high, everytime, dude.

I'd like to recommend that Jim be banned the instant he suggests we sell high on Vladdy next offseason.

Sell high, everytime, dude. Hell yes you did, you stuck your hand in the ground along with LTBF and stated that Sanchez would be the GOAT ignoring every single warning sign in the previous 5-6 years about Sanchez from me and maybe half of this forum. I don't recall you ever saying to trade him though.

I don't recall you ever saying to trade him though. Don't think I said GOAT. All star yes...so let's hold off on him. I see a huge return to greatness for Sanzhez next year
