Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Lol Pat, "that's a good slider, put that one in a good spot". It was right down the middle, the movement was alright I guess.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 You are a notorious homer, who yet again is being a homer. Irregardless of the crappy defense, SRF has no clue where his pitches are going, he is not going to be any good to the blue jays now. Stop being a homer. That's not a word.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 A 2-0 count to Stanton, what could go wrong
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I hate to agree with tecret but he just got a swing and miss on a breaking ball right down the middle. Good hitters destroy those pitches. He gets himself in decent counts but he hangs way to many breaking balls in 2 strike counts. Getting that ball in the dirt will result in a lot of swing and miss.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Very good inning overall, threw a few decent changeups in there as well.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 First step is retiring the pedo stache and bring back the sexy beard he was rocking in Spring.
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 I find pitch count stats really interesting. You really have to get ahead of Stanton or you're done for. (career) Juan Soto has a 144 wRC+ through 0-2 counts in 2018

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 That's absurd and can't/won't continue.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Great AB from McKinney but I knew as soon as Severino threw him a breaking ball that he'd be done for after fouling off a bunch of 98-99 mph heaters.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 SN has sucked ass the last couple days.

(career) Juan Soto has a 144 wRC+ through 0-2 counts in 2018 I wonder what his stats are on first pitch strikes, obviously you'd like to get ahead on him but that's easier said than done when a first pitch fastball could get sent 500 feet.

King Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Here's Votto: Pretty good that guy. And here is 2004 Barry Bonds: He only had 48 plate appearances make it to an 0-2 count.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 And here is 2004 Barry Bonds: He only had 48 plate appearances make it to an 0-2 count. His on base was still over .350 on 0-2 counts. Jesus Christ lol

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Two hit day for Diego Jeselnick
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Dan Jinzen might end up as the best catcher in franchise history. In all seriousness his ability to make contact with two strikes is awesome, he rarely swings and misses.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 It's almost as if Neil Walker isn't an outfielder.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Who has produced the most value as a Jays catcher? Ernie Whitt by a landslide.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Ernie Whitt by a landslide. That's kinda sad for a franchise that's half a century old
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Ernie Whitt by a landslide. However best single seasons are somewhat of a tie between Whitt, Russell Martin in 2015 and Pat Borders in 1990.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Ernie Whitt by a landslide. Fletcher was one of my favourite players growing up
