Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 That but the people who were complaining about all the errors in the minor leagues. He hadn't played Baseball in a year half for one. And in the minors you often aren't playing with with good defensive players. Those errors can stack up if you don't have a First Baseman that can make plays. Another reason why I'm not worried about all the throwing errors Bo Bichette has committed in Double-A. Agreed, minor league defensive numbers are dumn.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 That was just flat out ugly. Game #87 fellas?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Oh f*** off ump that was a strike. Bat went way more than half way lol
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Nice job Oh! Lets walk it off fellas!
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Final Boss is a beast this year. Better get a good return for him.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Final Boss is a beast this year. Better get a good return for him. Hes got an attractive cheap team option next year as well. Not just a rental we should do fairly well. He will be coveted and we have no pressure to move him.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 I absolutely hate watching Martin at the plate... looks like he's trying to hit everything 500 feet, and he's late on anything hard

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 The sac bunt from the nine hitter worked? Well, well..

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Or the ump saying the batter didn't try to move was obvious, well, well... I agree, but what does that have to do with it?
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Well at least its Robertson instead of Chapman or Betances. I am actually surprised its not Betances. Hes been insane lately.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 I agree, but what does that have to do with it? Context.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Sac bunts working is the exception, not the rule.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Sac bunts working is the exception, not the rule. Agreed, but when in a game where runs are hard to come by, getting your struggling ninth hitter to bunt over a lead off double late in the game was the call Imo.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Good game on the pitching side. Ah well...

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Good game on the pitching side. Ah well... Ton of low scoring games today right across baseball, many featuring questionable pitching matchups.
MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Regardless they were able to bunt and we weren't.we had the go ahead run on 2nd and no one out If Travis can't hit he should at least work on his bunting. Is it unreasonable to expect that if he is going to be a bottom of the lineup hitter than he should be able to at least move the runner along. Or are we still at the point where Travis is this future batting champion ready to break out.

onwego Verified Member Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Buck'd again.. I had the sound down and was not fully watching and thought it was a home run by the camera angle, so I thought the later home run put the Jays up 2-1. The stats gurus also put up save stats when Oh came in and non-save stats when Robertson entered. Buck might be calling from the TV monitor which can add to the hype on a can of corn.

There's lots of factors. I had no problem with the call either given the scenario. There's no way they were gonna walk Gardner to get further down the lineup with more men on base.
