Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 This season has kind of sucked since May lol. Just a little.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 He's at 26%, not bad. i'd keep tabs on it, he doesnt pass the eye test for me at all.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Do tell... they have to fit, go... Someone will pay for Pillar and we have the depth with Alford, Teoscar, Grandy, Smith jr, Pompey, Grichuk, etc. Odds are he will cool off so the time is right to get good value for him imo. Donaldson is a crapshoot. Try and sign him for cheap and if not trade him for what you can get. Would easily get a good prospect in return especially for 4 months instead of 2 Moraless cut asap Start there imo
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Lol. It's rough right now, guys. But you should've seen it coming. Don't worry. From pain will come pleasure. They'll add some nice young pieces at the deadline and come into 2019 fresh and young. They'll probably struggle a lot next year too, but by 2020 I think they can be back on the road to competing. Good young pieces are close and they'll have some salaries coming off the books in a couple of years. Who do they move... today when bored, I went through the last four years from May to Aug/31st, there isn't many trades done. Not that you cats think.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Martin has no luck. He just isn't even even a decent hitter anymore. He probably should be a backup to mentor our young catcher at some point this year imo as well.

Story of his start, the low BABIP, and his isolated power, everything is hit hard. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?game_pk=530087&type=exit_velocity&chart_view=pitch&chart_type=sbp&inning=&count=&batter_hand=&pitcher_hand=&filter=

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Ha ha, lack of options when Luke Maile is your PR...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 The slope is getting deeper.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Who do they move... today when bored, I went through the last four years from May to Aug/31st, there isn't many trades done. Not that you cats think. There are deadline deals every year. The Jays have to move some of the pieces that are having solid seasons. The pen has been a strength. Move some arms. Solarte, Pillar, Happ. All should be shopped. I would've moved Donaldson last year so moving him now is unlikely cause you're getting 10 cents on the dollar unless he turns it around and goes ape for the balance is the season. Take off your blue Jays coloured glasses for a change. This is a bad team and was a bad team going into the season as much as you don't want to admit it to yourself
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Surprised they used Deck today.. If even for an inning... I thought he would be our long man SP tomorrow if/when Biaginni gets bombed..

Dousing gasoline in fire is impossible. There isn't as many trades as you think. You need buyers.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I think they are losing on purpose, they all want Vlad jr. on the team... lol

FOREVER!!! LOL @ Blue Jay Glasses, pre-season they're a WC1 team, did you bet?

There isn't as many trades as you think. You need buyers. It’s also too early for teams to make significant trades anyway. Most teams are still evaluating their needs.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 I know there are deadline deals every year, but how many do you legit think will happen? Dousing gasoline in fire is impossible. There isn't as many trades as you think. You need buyers. I'm not expecting to change the entire roster. That's stupid. But when a team sells at the deadline there is every opportunity to make 2-3 seperate deals to contending teams looking for depth in the pen, another starter, or to fill in for some potential injuries in the field. I'm not expecting to haul in a bunch of top 100 prospects. I'm hoping that some pieces are added that can be regular contributors in the future. Some good arms that maybe could fill in in the pen, maybe a potential starter, maybe some higher ceiling guys in A ball that a contending team can afford to part with. We all know how the deadline works, who wants what, and what usually gets moved in terms of specs. My main hope is that this organisation realises that they aren't buyers, they are absolutely sellers, and they aggressively look to start a youth movement in 2019.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 It’s also too early for teams to make significant trades anyway. Most teams are still evaluating their needs. July and August. I'm not expecting anything until then.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 It’s also too early for teams to make significant trades anyway. Most teams are still evaluating their needs. Most teams don't trade until mid July... and have talked for months. It's a silly assumption.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 They were never going to be a WC team Krylian's projection system...

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Krylian's projection system... And yet it seems to be quite accurate.
