No ******** from me. If Osuna did hit a woman, if proven, I never want to see him again. I expect him to be a criminal and have his work visa revoked. There is no place for this crap. Athletes are not my heros (Bobby Orr was when I was a kid), they are pawns for entertainment.

I saw a video a few months ago. I think it had a AA player hitting a girl a number of times in a stairwell. What happened to him?

I’ve run hotels and had to call cops plenty of times with girls hitting the guy. Sometimes guy does it back and in those cases they’re both just losers. But it’s a lot different than Ray Rice type of thing

The fact that he wasn't remanded into custody suggests the assault allegation itself was on the lower end. That said, if he is convicted he faces a potential jail sentence. There is currently a push from the federal government and provincial attorney's general to increase sentences for domestic assault. Even if he avoids true jail after sentencing he could face a lengthy period of house arrest on a conditional sentence, which would obviously cause trouble for his baseball career.

In a way they did. The modern standard is to make your first court appearance in custody as opposed to a promise to appear on these types of charges... despite the presumption of innocence.

I agree that if he did anything close to what Danry Vasquez (the stairwell puncher) did he needs to be severely punished, including jail time. But no one knows the details of the allegations so lets not lump him into that basket yet...

"own recognizance" is a bail condition. He had to post bail. Unlike in the US, there is no posting of money. There is a promise to pay if you break the conditions.
