Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Donaldson with dead arm is scary. I have experience with dead arm. Mine never came back. Can afford to extend him now..... as a DH. A nice complement to Vladdy and the others.
jerb Verified Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Gregor Chisholm Verified account @gregorMLB Tulowitzki will undergo surgery on both of his feet later this week to remove the bone spurs. #BlueJays
jerb Verified Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Keegan Matheson Verified account @KeeganMatheson Tulowitzki and the #BlueJays consulted with five specialists over the offseason, three in-person evaluations. Atkins says he could be back in 8 weeks...
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 On both of his feet lol, wow this guy is some kind of injury prone.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 On both of his feet lol, wow this guy is some kind of injury prone. Maybe we should be looking at making Tulo the DH when he comes back (he can still play MI once or twice a week to spell others).
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Can the Blue Jays not collect any insurance on his contract. Hes such an anchor on this franchise.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Can the Blue Jays not collect any insurance on his contract. Hes such an anchor on this franchise. I think most teams don't insure contracts anymore (or if they do it would only cover a career ending injury, not smaller stuff).
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I think most teams don't insure contracts anymore (or if they do it would only cover a career ending injury, not smaller stuff). And even if they did, a company insuring Tulo would be insane. At this point it's no longer about how many games he will miss due to injury, but rather how many games he might be able to play.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Tulo should have had the surgery a month ago. The fact that he didn't see this specialist until the end of spring training is pathetic.

I assume the insurance would be bought at the time the contract was signed, not on a year to year basis.

DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Gut feelings tend to be wrong. No s***. Nothing gets past you bro.
jerb Verified Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Keegan Matheson Verified account @KeeganMatheson To clarify Tulowitzki timeline: Atkins says that right heel bone spurs were original issue. Conservative treatment was chosen for those after consultations with specialists. More recently, left heel also became an issue. At that point, treatment strategy changed. #BlueJays

Dotelsbruisedbananna Verified Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Career is done, he will never contribute anything useful to baseball ever again (on the field). Would be easy to shrug it off but his salary is big and Diaz/Ngope for 162 is just.. cringeworthy.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Probably one of the most injury prone athletes ever huh?
Dotelsbruisedbananna Verified Member Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 The timeline is also very interesting, like he turns into a brutal baseball player and then all of a sudden (after the fact) starts getting hurt all the time. With this injury too, all off-season all spring to see this "specialist" and nothing and then on opening day its announced, 60 day DL. Personally, and IDGAF what others think, I think he just wants to eliminate the number of craptacular years on the back of his bubble gum card or has lost interest. There is more going on than we see for sure anyways.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Every year I'm hopeful that the new crop of in-season newbs will be better than season's past. I'm constantly disappointed.

At least usually one or two good ones break through the cracks. There's a couple of those this year as well who don't make you hate humanity.
