Hoarding relievers actually can work though because the position is so volatile that it's hard to predict performance year to year. If you hoard starters and position players, then that's a different story.

 

Obviously if Mayza looks awesome and the vets look like s***, then you make adjustments from there, but that's the whole point of depth in the pen.

Hoarding relievers is what you do when you want to find s*** that sticks and can be moved at the deadline for prospects.
