The guest referred to itself as someone who was "assigned woman" and "nongender conforming" who plays baseball and has had to change "their" game because of it. "They" does seem to have a pulse though. The others are really, really bad. All the questions were pre-written and there is no back and forth or anything. Just reading one question after the others.

They are now discussing how there are "literally no jobs in this country that aren't male-dominated." And how any jobs that females have now are because men "finally allowed it." Male-dominated is an offensive term not because it's true, but because it's so true in every single field that it should not even have to be used.

If it wasn't so boring it would be some hilarious s***. It is sad that fangraphs is pimping this crap though.

Look, I agree with the premise that men have an advantage in many workplaces (I work in I.T., I have literally worked with 1 woman in the 10 years I've been doing this...) but "every single field" is some dumb f***ing s***. Nursing, teaching, flight attendants. I'm not saying they're CEOs, but those are f***ing fields.

Canada is pretty f***ed up. No offense.

Yeah man, but I think we're waking up faster than the people in Europe. I think we'll have kicked out Trudeau before he does too much damage.

I enjoy watching Tredeau being interviewed because he's such a spectacular dumbass, but yeah, I'd hate to be at the whim of that maniac right now. At least our terrible Presidents aren't around for very long.

Have you considered the fact that women don't want to work in IT? Because that's why there are no women in IT.

I took a class a few years ago for carpentry. The course was 6 months and cost 8000 dollars. There was another class running at the same time called Women in Skilled Trades. WIST Was a longer course, included an off site plumbing module and was almost entirely subsidized by the government.

Without checking, is there a program like that for men in nursing? They are bending over backwards to hand women jobs in these male dominated fields but the issue is that women generally don't want them.

They are now discussing domestic violence and fantasy baseball and how she doesn't pick up domestic violence guys because "she doesn't want to win anything with a guy who has hit his girlfriend." In her small way it might force change. The other hosts are chiming in that this is their second time playing fantasy baseball and they do the same thing. All are very proud of themselves.

As an aside, are there any other pod hosts on fangraphs who only started playing fantasy baseball? Yeesh, do these people write for Rotographs too? Maybe they aren't actually qualified and only got jobs for some other reason....

Yeah, another normal person. f***! We really need to set up some kind of E-gulag, right?

This thread had been politicized already. I was just adding my two cents. Believe me, America is also far from perfect right now.

Don't mind Terminator and Boxy. They call themselves alt right (not sure what this is - I think it's an American thing). They seem to hate women and visible minorities, and strongly support Donald Trump. Terminator actually lives in America and voted for Trump, and continues to attend 'rallies'.

I actually illegally migrated to Chicago for a day and voted for Trump too. He's doing a spectacular job as I knew he would.

I'm one of the sanctimonious Americans who voted for neither candidate. I actually think I would vote for Trump if I could go back in time. Hillary has been nothing but an atrocious human being in defeat. I think we got the lesser of two evils, frankly.

See, here's your problem with this line of thinking... "women don't want these kinds of jobs" is because that's basically how a lot of women are raised, the problem isn't that there aren't openings for women, any competent hiring manager would hire the best qualified person, but because women are discouraged from a young age from pursuing STEM, they don't. Frankly, I think that's a very, very stupid way to raise kids, and it's probably costing us some damn good STEM types that could be doing amazing things for us as a society.

If Elon Musk had chosen a female form when he came to our planet, I think we'd probably be a lot better off.

You are objectively wrong. You got the worst political leader since two guys decided who should be in charge of the cave, BUT, this is a baseball forum (as much as it doesn't seem like that), so I don't really want to get into the weeds on this one.

Yes, in this climate where no one shuts the f*** up about how young girls should go into STEM, young girls are not being encouraged to go into STEM. This "societal barrier" ******** is just a fallback for when there's absolutely nothing factual to fall back on.

You need to do your research man, why would you vote in a non-swing state? That was just a waste of gas money.

There's far more evidence that women simply don't gravitate towards those jobs than of some mysterious systemic discrimination against women. I know plenty of women who make a lot more than I do in healthcare, for instance. Am I entitled to their money and status?

You heard it here, Hitler>Trump. Whats killing a few million Jews compared to acting like an unhinged jackass on Twitter?

Because I'm not smart

Young girls are f***ing FINALLY being encouraged to now, this is an improvement in society. I'm turning 40 in a bit over a week, when I was 8, girls were told to play with Barbie dolls and get into teaching or nursing. Hopefully by the time the current group of 8 year olds are my age, there will be a f***tonne of women in STEM. Also, hopefully your favourite megalomaniac won't have caused a nuclear war...

Can you guys f*** off with the politics in this thread?

Thanks in advance.

Go make your own thread, this one has been commandeered.

Hitler was unquestionably a better leader than Trump. I'm not saying he was a better person, but he was very much a better leader.

As a former boy, I don't remember boys being told to go into STEM when I was eight, either. Usually we were just going to third grade class and playing with our friends.

Fangraphs claims that politics and baseball are married together and the two can't be separated.

Why does it matter if there are women in STEM or not? Does having a vagina somehow make them more qualified? As long as there's no discrimination, I couldn't give a s*** if a single woman is in STEM because that's their choice and I guess I'd rather treat females like adults rather than poor little victims that I have to save.
