jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Get that bullpen up! Urena just walked in a run!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Ohtani DH'ing for the Angels The earlier they start the experiment, the earlier it can end...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 I was so salty when Happ went a pick before me in my draft. Thinking he has a monster season. Atleast I got Schwarber.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Marlins season starting out as expected lol
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Wow--the Angels are a circus of an org. to be giving Ohtani DH duties when he didn't exactly show anything at the plate this spring. Expect an 0-4 day.. ah, ST is kinda meaningless SSS But if Ohtani was not an elite pitcher he'd be getting hitting experience at AA probably
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 3 HBP’s and he barely missed Lester lol.
Hobbs Verified Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 That outfield sculpture is totally ridiculous. I'll never understand what Miami was thinking.

Expect an 0-4 day.. lmao ok, so you're just never gonna let him hit based on some spring games? Steamer projects a 116 wRC+ why wouldn't they let him hit?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 lmao ok, so you're just never gonna let him hit based on some spring games? Steamer projects a 116 wRC+ why wouldn't they let him hit? would be a projection with a high error bar in the case of Ohtani with no prior MiLB or MLB service.... projecting MLB performance from Nippon league cant be too accurate
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 That outfield sculpture is totally ridiculous. I'll never understand what Miami was thinking. Jeter and ownership are trying to remove it. But the artist is blocking it. https://www.google.ca/amp/amp.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article201240794.html

He's shown he can hit at a high level, he shouldn't be barred from that opportunity in the MLB based on a few at bats
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Historically, strong numbers in the JPPL have translated well to the MLB. He's shown he can hit at a high level, he shouldn't be barred from that opportunity in the MLB based on a few at bats Sure, but I'm not going to pay much attention to projections for guys coming over from JPPL... has to be one of the least accurate projection models

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Sac bunt in the 2nd inning with 1 out is a prime example of why NL baseball SUCKS.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 The point was giving him an opportunity to hit should hardly qualify the organization as a "circus" Agreed Plus, his contract may well include a minimum # of PA
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Sac bunt in the 2nd inning with 1 out is a prime example of why NL baseball SUCKS. Yep--a reason why pitchers should never hit.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Yep--a reason why pitchers should never hit. in the late 1800's the gap between a pitcher and an outfielder hitting would have been small or the pitcher may well have been the best hitter on the team for the pitcher to hit in today's game is ridiculous
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 And Lester kills a Cubs rally.. right when they had a shot to blow the game wide open. Another reason pitchers shouldn't hit..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Big triple past Happ for Derek Dietrich!
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Schwarber comes close to a concussion there
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Schwarber is just awful at D. He will die before June
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Schwarber comes close to a concussion there He looked absolutely terrible tracking that.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Schwarber is just awful at D. He will die before June He needs to be on an AL team as a DH--Cubs should've dealt him long ago.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 lmao what the f*** was Schwarber doing?
