GoJays1562 Verified Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Stanton Judge and Sanchez. Yeah we are screwed.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I think this is a great deal for the Yankees atm, but I'll also say that if they aren't able to reset their luxury tax this year, it'll also be an incredibly expensive one for them. They still need one or two starting pitchers at the very least, although I'd imagine they'll try to trade for one dangling Frazier as bait.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I don't think so. H2H? I read Sandy Alcantara was in the package, but the rest remains a mystery. Thanks, brosoffs!

Apparently they will still be able to get under the tax this year, which makes the deal all that much better:

If the Jays were to completely punt this season, a deal involving Stroman and/or Happ would actually be a reasonable fit for both sides* * I mainly wrote this to get Jimcanuck fapping over this ultimate wet dream scenario for him, dumping MLB talent to a division rival.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 H2H? Thanks, brosoffs! Yes! Just got to deposit some $$. I'll send it in a bit
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Judge, Stanton and Hicks the best OF in baseball?
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Judge, Stanton and Hicks the best OF in baseball? No, and Judge + Stanton won't be playing OF together
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Judge, Stanton and Hicks the best OF in baseball? Stanton said awhile back that he’s interested in DHing. So he will probably do a lot of that.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Judge, Stanton and Hicks the best OF in baseball? Without question. They need to trade at least one of Gardner and Ellsbury because of their salaries, but either would a very good 4th outfielder too.

I've been trying to trade Ellsbury for years unsuccessfully in Fantasy. I don't like the Yankees chances of being able to move him. I could see them moving Gardner though. There would be a market for him.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Judge, Stanton and Hicks the best OF in baseball? Stanton and Judge by themselves is enough. They could put Knoblauchs ghost in left and it would still be the best. They could have 3 guys hit 40+ homers. #BronxBombers
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Stanton said awhile back that he’s interested in DHing. So he will probably do a lot of that. They'll likely rotate Ellsbury/Gardner (depending on who they keep), with Stanton and Judge for the DH.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Lmao. Marlins got fleeced. Jeter doing a great job. 2018 World Series MVP f*** I hate this. Jeter is a 4% bobblehead. He has nothing to do with anything.

Gardner is only signed for this season too at a relatively cheap $12m (including a $1m trade kicker). In a salary dump situation, even the Jays would be interested, but I think a contender with an outfielder need would give up an OK prospect for him.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 Yeah it's the obvious move, though as mentioned above Ellsbury is more likely to be kept than Gardner IMO.
UKBlueJaysFan Verified Member Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I do hope the Yankees contacted Marcus Stroman prior to making this trade. #communication. On a serious note, that’s the AL East sown up for next 5 years then especially when the Yankees get Harper next year.

If the Yankees can't move Ellsbury(they can eat half of his contract), he'll be used the same as last season as a 4/5th OF. Frazier likely gets moved for SP.

Guy is in love with himself. He will get the money he wants in tons of places. The Yankees will most likely target Machado.
