I always loved him and hoped he could become an ace for us. I remember watching him in Seattle and liking him then when we traded Brandon League for him I was super stoked. We clearly had to decline his option, but I am surprised he wasn't brought back on a cheaper deal.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't bring him back after 2014. Maybe he didn't want to come back, certainly going to San Diego is a better environment to pump your value back up, but would have been nice to keep him in relief.
