Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 It was a terrible send that would have been criticized for days. The fact it worked out does not excuse bad decision making. I can totally see your point. However, there's no telling if the Astros would have gotten another hit off Chapman, given how well he's pitched this postseason and even a small mixup by the cutoff man, or a dropped throw at the plate and you win the game. Anything other than the game on the line with both teams struggling to score and I would agree with you.

If there were two out, it may have been slightly defensible.
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I thought it was a good send. Puts pressure on the D and worst case scenario there's a runner at second with two outs. In most circumstances I doubt he gets sent but in this case I don't have a problem with it. Second and third with one out is much better. Anything to the outfield scores a run. It worked out but it was pretty stupid.
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Chapman can be wild at times I'll give you that. All things considered, just happy Verlander got the W. What a performance.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 The whole relay was awful, Judge overthrew the cutoff man, putting Didi in a tough position, Didi's throw was meh but at least it was in line and just a total f*** up by Gary Sanchez. I just the highlight and came in to say the exact same thing. Judge lobed the ball into second base when that runner didnt matter. Sanchez should probably be getting pulled in the later innings going foward

Well they would have most likely intentional walk the next guy setting up a double play situation. I agreed that it was indeed a stupid send by the 3rd base coach.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Is Sanchez cemented at catcher? A move to 1B should probably at least be considered but rhat sort of messes other things up for them Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do it though. The difference between having a good vs a bad catcher makes such a huge impact on so many aspects of the game

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Verlander padding his HOF credentials with post season cred that he wouldn't have gotten in Detroit
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 crazy there are lots of tix to the game available at quite reasonable (as low as $64) prices

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 When the f*** did Morton start throwing 99? He's disgusting tonight. Lol. Filthy stuff
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 That short porch should never have been allowed. At least Boston compensates with a big ass wall.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 That short porch should never have been allowed. At least Boston compensates with a big ass wall. Two bloops and a ******** homer. Terribly unlucky sequence for Morton who looks great.
Yippy Verified Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Judge made that play look way harder than it should have been
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Judge made that play look way harder than it should have been At least he caught it. Maybin just totally misplayed that fly by Bird.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Lost it or got scared of the wall? Looked like the latter to me. I think he just misplayed it.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Poor Morton and the Astros. This might be one of the unluckiest games I've seen in a long time. It probably should be 0-0 still.
Yippy Verified Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Yankees may even win the next game
Ray Verified Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Yankees are channeling their inner Royals in this game. Death by 1000 cuts.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Judge looks so awkward in the outfield, but he makes the plays.
