Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 If Urena can play at both SS and 2B he's got more chance of making the 25 man next year. Begs the question why he hasn't been playing any 2B in the minors though. Probably because there wasn't the need lol. No reason to move someone off the superior defensive position, specially if they're a good defender there. I guess I can understand Ureña getting some reps at second for next year when Travis inevitably gets injured, but I'd rather see how he handles himself at the superior position over Goins.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Chris Tillman suxxxxxxxxxxxx
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Tillman sucks. Nice job by the last 3 hitters. JD is an exceptional hitter - going to miss him.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Is there a memo out that Brett Anderson is a historically awful fielder? What's with all the bunts lol
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 The hate for Goins here is ridiculous.
KevinGregg Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 The hate for Goins here is ridiculous. A sub 300 obp and declining defence will have that effect
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Ureña barely walked in the minors but he has 2 in as many PA. Lol Tillman.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I didn't know Urena liked taking walks
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 A sub 300 obp and declining defence will have that effect Declining defence? It's not the kid's fault he's getting all this playing time due to injuries. Driving in 50+ runs at the bottom of the line up while playing solid defence is fine for a #8 or #9 hitter in the line up due to injuries.

No one blames him for getting undeserved playing time, obviously that's not his fault. Yes, declining defense, it's not good, it's not solid, it's below average. He's not a kid, he's 29 years old. He has no potential and as a glove only player whose glove is no longer that good and keeps declining (as defense tends to do), he's an awful MLB player. Good for him for somehow having the trust of the entire organization, but not good for the team and not good for us, the fans of that team.

Who should have the org plugged in there instead? Maybe we should have just hung on to Kawasaki and release Goins. Management isn't interested is spending 3-4mil on a marginally better back up middle infielder. That was tried before and failed miserably.

He's obviously lost a lot of his range but he's still much better than Goins at the position. He's got arm strength for days and those absurd running throws that he makes all the time are able to somewhat mask the fact that he's lost a few steps there. Surely a better than below replacement level player was available somewhere else. The Orioles got Tim Beckham for nothing and that's worked out brilliantly for them. Ryan Goins is as replaceable as an MLB player can get.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Pat Tabler just invented the worst statistic of all-time: half RBIs.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Tabby hollow fapping ruining my Sept call ups experience. Jesus, Urena takes a look at 3B before going to 1B on that GB. "You don't see rookies do that". Shoot me.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Goins has a -1 War for each of the last 2 seasons lol A 600 OPS player is not okay for any spot in the lineup
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 goins with da 2b
