Every time we play like this it's even more frustrating we got off to such a terrible start this year.

 

Ah well, at least we can look forward to next season with more optimism.

Four games out of Wild Card 2 with a month and a half to play. If they can tread water until some better health comes along, then a run is not out od the question. Look at the Cardinals who are ties for 1st in their division now.

Yeah but there are 7 teams between us and the second wildcard. Let's just say that if we make it, then we're going to be favourites for the World Series because we'd be in incredible form!

They really can't afford to just tread water right now this late in the season. They need to go on a run plain & simple. 7 other teams are in front of them and if one or two of those 7 teams go on a major run (which is definitely possible) while the Jays just tread water isn't going to get them back into the race.

I should have said "get to .500 by September" rather than tread water. What I really mean is that if they can futz their way into a decent position in the next couple of weeks then a September run could be pretty fruitful. Though they admittedly haven't really shown any sort of resiliency at this point and we're four and a half months into the year.

One of my first Blue Jay memories was Aaron Hill stole home!

 

Hill's was a straight steal... much more impressive. ;)
