TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 vs. Red Sox...who have players. This is what I'm putting my perfect record against.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Bravo. Good effort Looking to go 4-0 over several years
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Carrera overthrows the cutoff...again.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I am so glad Ezequiel Carrera is on this team. Textbook example of a guy who puts the team before his own ego in his squirrel sized brain.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 That was, um, interesting. Pearce isn't exactly Alex Gordon out there but he made a pretty decent throw there.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Lmao @ fielder's choice. Wtf hometown scorer?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Well idk how to feel about that one
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Lmao @ fielder's choice. Wtf hometown scorer? There's no ambiguity there at all, does the scorer not follow baseball? That's a base hit by any reasonable interpretation.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Well idk how to feel about that one I think it's safe to say Pearce's outfield skills may not be very good anymore. Play the man at second base FFS.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I think with a good read Pillar gets to that ball.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 That is a catchable ball if anyone competent is in CF.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 So that's what a two strike approach with RISP looks like? Interesting..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Our bullpen is getting annihilated.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Gibby has officially lost his mind.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I think it's safe to say Pearce's outfield skills may not be very good anymore. Play the man at second base FFS. But we gotta get Goins in there

Yeah it's easy to blame the pitchers, but the Jays poor defense this season has cost them so many runs. That said, Liriano just doesn't seem to have it. But they may as well play out the string with him, since they don't appear to have much in house to fill in, and Sanchez may not be ready for his next turn. ETA: I take that back. Give me Bolsinger over Liriano. I assume the DL stint for Bolsinger was just so they didn't have to run him through waivers to open up his roster spot.
M.E. Verified Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Well it only took 1+ innings for this s*** to blow up. Oh what a fun season this has been so far.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I think it's safe to say Pearce's outfield skills may not be very good anymore. Play the man at second base FFS. He's as bad as Bautista is. Either trade him, Smoak or Morales because he can only play 1st.

There is little market value for Liriano right now anyway....they probably have to play it out for remainder of year. Be nice to find someone to take a chance on him and eat the remainder of his deal. He has had another rough year.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 That trade actually doesn't look so bad for the Pirates now. Hutch has been nothing but they saved a lot of $ and Ramirez and McGuire are both hurt/not good.

Yeah it could still work for the Jays if either of those prospects pans out, but so far it's a big win for the Pirates by achieving the salary dump.

Hutch has been nothing but they saved a lot of $ and Ramirez and McGuire are both hurt/not good. The trade was mostly lose-lose but I think the Jays still came out on top. Liriano has provided 1.2 WAR as a Blue Jay, including a great run last season and his salary hasn't been crippling to us, Hutch sucks, Ramirez is likely awful but McGuire is still a 22 year old catcher in AA, so he could yet make an okay backup in the future. At the end of the day both teams mostly forget that deal ever happened.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 f*** we can't catch a f***ing break.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 f*** we can't catch a f***ing break. There's our break!
