John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Braves OF Ronald Acuna from 62 to 10.... Albies drops to 25 from 8? I know he's got no power but he's got an .800 OPS in AAA as a 20 year old and showing more power than ever before. ALTUVE 2.0 Walker Buehler from 77 to 17....

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Author Posted July 7, 2017 Of note: Canadian Cal Quantrill moves from 78 to 21. He had tj surgery in 2015.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Top 2 prospect at age 18. Bichette should move up too if he handles Dunedin well for the rest of the season. The system slowly getting better.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Baseball America is quite aggressive. It's probably the best list I have seen so far.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 It's probably the best list I have seen so far. I didn't say it was a bad thing. If you feel a player(s) should be ranked significantly higher. Don't let former lists be a guide for how high you can rank them. I like it.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Also Gurriel dropped from 68 to 90. He and Alford dropped do to injury, we'll see what it looks like in February.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 He and Alford dropped do to injury, we'll see what it looks like in February. Yeah Gurriel was always going to drop after missing most of the season. I still fully expect to see him in the majors sometime in the next 1-2 years.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Vlad must have one hell of a bat considering most project him to be playing 1st in the majors.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I'm pretty sure this is the highest a Blue Jays prospect has ever been ranked on a BA list.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I'm pretty sure this is the highest a Blue Jays prospect has ever been ranked on a BA list. Olerud was #3, Wells, Delgado, Gonzalez were #4. So yes, Vladdy is the best. (Midseason anyway) http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/rankings/top-100-prospects/all-time/#1990

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I'm pretty sure this is the highest a Blue Jays prospect has ever been ranked on a BA list. We might officially be into most-hyped Jays prospect ever territory.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Alex Gonzalez the SS? Crazy! Green and Gonzalez were like the Bo and Vlad of their day. People thought they would be franchise cornerstones. Green pretty much was.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 We might officially be into most-hyped Jays prospect ever territory. I wonder how many people here would trade him straight up for the #1 prospect (Moncada)? I certainly wouldn't.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I can just imagine AA reveling in this. If Shapiro really did dress down AA over trading the farm, as alleged, it's pretty funny that he inherited a Top 3 prospect.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I wonder how many people here would trade him straight up for the #1 prospect (Moncada)? I certainly wouldn't. I wouldn't either. Moncada's whiff profile makes him pretty risky, while Vladdy is strike zone god at age 18.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 More importantly than Vlad belonging to the Jays, is he's also eligible to play for Team Canada at the WBC.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 More importantly than Vlad belonging to the Jays, is he's also eligible to play for Team Canada at the WBC. That would be so bad ass lol.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I wonder how many people here would trade him straight up for the #1 prospect (Moncada)? I certainly wouldn't. I would. He fits a big need we have on the team right now (and he's basically ready), and adds a ton of speed on top of good power.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Green and Gonzalez were like the Bo and Vlad of their day. People thought they would be franchise cornerstones. Green pretty much was. Yeah, the thing was back then, no fans paid any attention to the minors at all and just relied on the talking heads on TV to tell them who was a good propects and who wasn't. Vlad and Bo's numbers make Green and Gonzalez's numbers look like chicken feed.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 More importantly than Vlad belonging to the Jays, is he's also eligible to play for Team Canada at the WBC. He was born in Canada I think. He should be eligible.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 More importantly than Vlad belonging to the Jays, is he's also eligible to play for Team Canada at the WBC. it would probably serve him well on the endorsement side of things to consider himself "Canadian" over Dominican ... especially if they ask him to play.

Though Vlad Jr. is shaping up to be a great prospect, he's not Moncada.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Tatis is criminally low on this list. He really sticks out to me.
JoJo Parker Dunedin Blue Jays - A SS On Tuesday, Parker was just 1-for-5, but the one hit was his first professional home run. Explore JoJo Parker News >
