THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yeah JB has .736 OPS and 97 wRC+ in 2017 versus Pearce at .719 OPS and 86 wRC+. BUT in 2016, Pearce was slightly better with an .866 OPS and 136 wRC+ versus Bautista's .818 OPS and 122 wRC+ Actually, Pearce - 766 OPS and 99 wRC+ in 2017 Bautista - 732 OPS and 96 wRC+ in 2017 So he's not wrong.

Pearce seems to have a pretty bad approach at the plate this year. They shouldn't put him anywhere near leadoff until that improves.

Lol the stats he posted were what I saw on fangraphs yesterday before fangraphs updated. Pearce went 3 for 3 with a double and raised his wRC+ 13 points yesterday. Nice.

That's what I was looking at when making my very accurate observation
wamco Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Tex announcers laughed it up as Pearce ran into the wall and hurt his knee
BlueJays Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Because Pillar was moved out of the lead off spot? WTF does that have to do with anything? I was never a supporter of him batting lead off, period. breakout season!!!
