AE1M Verified Member Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Folks, please excuse me if I am posting this in the wrong place here. My wife and I have tickets to the TOR/NYY games this Fri 6/2, Sat, Sun. I cannot use the Sunday tickets now and want to sell. I have the hard-copy actual tickets. It is illegal around here (NY) to sell outside the stadium. Is this allowed in Toronto? If anyone is interested, they are sec 113CL, Row 11, seats 109-110 Field Level Bases. We are staying at a hotel a few miles from Rogers Center. Tickets were CA $75.00. Would love to get CA $125 for the pair. Will have to meet in person somewhere. Section 113CL Row 11 Seats 109 - 110 Description Field Level Bases PRICE LEVEL 6 Type Standard Ticket Ticket Price CA $75.00 x 2 Service Fee CA $6.25 x 2 Lastly, not having traveled much in Canada, is US currency commonly accepted?
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 30, 2017 Posted May 30, 2017 Well no you're not legally allowed to sell tickets outside of stadium if that's your question. Scalping is illegal although you'll see a network of lowlife scalpers everywhere. When you say you have a hard-copy of the actual tickets, did you purchase them online through ticketmaster and then print them? US currency other than coins under $1 are not accepted as form of payment. You'll need to get your money exchanged.

First I'd like to say that I hope your team comes out of the series without a run scored. Secondly, selling tickets for less than face value is not illegal. So go right ahead and sell them on Friday or Saturday or even here. It is Josh Donaldson bobblehead day and tickets on Stubhub are quite a bit more than what you are asking, so you should have no issues moving them at this price. As for U.S. money, just about everywhere downtown will have an exchange rate posted but my suggestion would be to go to a currency exchange place and get some Canadian money or be prepared for an extra 5 minutes at everywhere while some pimple faced teenager tries to figure out the exchange. Stadium should be fine for U.S. But their rate won't be as good as a bank.

I have the small cardboard stock real tickets, not the print-at-home version. Thanks for the money info. My wife and I stayed on the CA side of Niagara Falls a few years ago and US dollars were OK everywhere. Bob
