Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Alford's cooling off of late. 2 for 21 with 9 K's... Yikes!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Borucki had 7 consecutive K's to open the game, followed by a couple of soft grounders, a pop up, and another punchout. Not bad!
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Borucki had 7 consecutive K's to open the game, followed by a couple of soft grounders, a pop up, and another punchout. Not bad! It was a great outing. Unfortunately only lasted 45 pitches and he was taken out in the middle of the inning. Hopefully it wasn't an injury, but he threw 75 pitches in his last outing, so to cap him at 45 tonight doesn't make a lot of sense.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Promote that man. Class A is providing him no developmental challenge at this point.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Might as well skip Dunedin and throw him into the Eastern League tbh I know you're joking, but nah. FSL is tough for hitters, it might be good for him to get challenged there. He could easily be in AA this time next year.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 He's basically working on his defensive development at this point. The hitting is just a sideshow. If they want to get his bat to the majors faster, it's ready for a challenge so they could abandon the 3B trial and shoot him up the ladder quicker. Similar to moving a guy like Bryce or Myers off of catcher.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I don't see the point in moving him off 3B, TBH. He has the arm for it, so I'd just let him go for it, and it's not like he's piling up a ton of errors. He could be a passable 3B, and the Jays will need one by the time he's ready.

Only if we somehow re-sign JD, do I even entertain moving him off 3rd, especially if he continues to improve at it.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Are Fangraphs batted ball numbers wrong for Minor Leaguers? Seems every player has a crazy high IFFB%.
