Laika Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Post stuff about the WBC here! Let's talk about some of the key little-known names. Nick Pivetta, Eric Wood and Daniel Pinero - who's got the info? Also Rowan Wick seems interesting. Extreme K rate in the minors this year after converting to pitching.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Freddie Freeman posted this today
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Martin wanted to play but couldn't because of a minor knee operation earlier in the offseason and associated "insurance reasons." Sigh.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 This sucks. Was really looking forward to watching Otani play. http://www.si.com/mlb/2017/01/31/shohei-otani-will-not-play-world-baseball-classic-injury
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Kind of sucks how Cuba doesn't have any MLB players. They could have had a pretty good team.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Jaw drops That USA teams looks pretty f'n good
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Just enjoy the semi's and finals.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 That's without Bryant, Trout, Kershaw, Harper, etc.. Donaldson, Scherzer, Syndergaard the list goes on.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Any of these game gonna be aired on SN?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Any of these game gonna be aired on SN? No. The round robin is being carried on HGTV this year and the playdowns are on MTV2.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Jaw drops That USA teams looks pretty f'n good I've seen better USA teams. Their pitching isn't anything special in this type of format. Miller won't be used the way Cleveland used him obviously lol.

Not compared to previous teams and especially not compared to the team they would have if they really sent their best players but it's such a deep talent pool that even their B team looks good certainly good enough to win this crap shoot of a tournament.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Need to see Ang's DR roster. Where is Ang anyway
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 "minor knee" surgery is not minor when it comes to catchers rip Martin
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Martin wanted to play but couldn't because of a minor knee operation earlier in the offseason and associated "insurance reasons." Sigh. After reading this and the post above I thought you were going to referr to Martin Freeman, and was dissapointed as I was expecting a Sherlock reference.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Are HGTV and MTV2 available in Canada?
baseballsss Verified Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Dominicans roster looks like a power house.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Dominicans roster looks like a power house. Yes, missing EE for some reason though.
TBJ12 Verified Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Yes, missing EE for some reason though. Cleveland probably didn't wan't him in playing in WBC. Could have been part of the deal when he signed.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Cleveland probably didn't wan't in playing in it. I'd be surprised if they can do that, if MLB is a WBC supporter, which they are.

Russel Martin Martin Freeman Morgan Freeman Freddie Freeman Full circle
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Dominicans roster looks like a power house. Great lineup US has better pitching as usual (and pretty fantastic lineup too really)
baseballsss Verified Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 When lol? The 09 and 13 rosters were pretty crap looking at them now. lol so true. 2013 wasn't all that bad but it did have Arencibia on it lol
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 USA possible lineup: Nolan Arenado, 3B Ian Kinsler, 2B Paul Goldschmidt, 1B Giancarlo Stanton, LF Eric Hosmer or Daniel Murphy, DH Buster Posey, C Andrew McCutchen, RF Brandon Crawford, SS Adam Jones, CF Starting rotation: Chris Archer J A Happ Michael Fullmer Marcus Stroman Bullpen: Andrew Miller Brett Cecil David Robertson Mychal Givens Tyler Clippard Danny Duffy Sam Dyson
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Sure, they COULD have had Kershaw/Scherzer starting But damn that's still a good team
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 When starters are only going to go through the order twice its not that big of a deal. Their bullpen is lights out which is way more important.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 AJ Ellis is on the US team...We're they looking for a true backup catcher or is he the bullpen catcher
