So was he left to die by robbers after he crashed? Or were the robbers the ones chasing him, caused him to crash and then robbed him? The police are going to have to investigate this one carefully.

 

The latter makes a lot more sense to me. A bunch of criminals after him and succeeded. Rather than a bunch of random opportunists who decided to loot rather than help. That would actually leave me with more faith in humanity if that turned out to be the case.
