What players can you expect to see there I went probably 7 years ago. At that time, everyone was there except Vernon Wells. Meeting Doc was simply the best. It's a great event. One tip is they say something about only being able to bring 2 things to get "signed", but there were guys with entire cases of balls. I tried to follow the rules, so I have one ball with Doc's autograph and another ball with everyone elses

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 If anyone needs Spring Training Tickets I have tickets to most of the games as I have season seats.
spats Verified Member Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 If anyone needs Spring Training Tickets I have tickets to most of the games as I have season seats. I'm there all of April for A ball but will also try to get down for the last week in March...may need tickets then. I'll be going to the 2nd and 3rd games of the Jays / Tampa series at the Trop. Opening day of the series is usually sold out but I just get the cheapest tickets for the next 2 games and sit where I want...the place is usually empty. For those going down for the first time, I suggest that if you want to see the players up close and personal for pictures and signing, make a trip to the Mattick Centre. Players who do not make the away game trips and most of the top prospects are usually there working out or playing in a intra-squad game. It is very loose atmosphere and the best part , It' s free.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Jays announced TV schedule for Spring Training. Seems like there are more games on TV than in the past. 11 games on TV http://media.sportsnet.ca/2017/02/its-always-sunny-in-dunedin-sportsnet-announces-2017-blue-jays-spring-training-broadcast-schedule/

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Steve Phillips just told me that Sanchez is Sale? I should be elated...
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Steve Phillips just told me that Sanchez is Sale? I should be elated... Sanchez is going to very likely have much worse results this year, and it will confuse a lot of people.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Sanchez is going to very likely have much worse results this year, and it will confuse a lot of people. Maybe time for a Sanchez poll? Could go either way, I can see him improving command and the reliability of the CH.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I think Happ will be our most reliable starter this year
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Media jumping at the fact Gibbons hasn't gotten a contract extension yet.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 That does not look like a man who is worried about his contract situation
IowaJay Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 What are the best sites and/or twitter follows to keep up on daily reports from spring training? Thanks in advance.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 What are the best sites and/or twitter follows to keep up on daily reports from spring training? Thanks in advance. Hey IowaJay! Congrats on Matt making his debut - we were all rooting for him here. BJMB here is a good website to follow for updates - usually everything of note gets posted here. Sportsnet keeps tabs on Jays spring training very close. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/ For twitter follows you would want to follow all these guys.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 I hope to f*** that Bautista is all business this year. Bet the f*** he has a monsterous year.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 He had about the most humbling year ever, between getting hurt twice, becoming a meme by being the receiving end of a punch, and ending up with 1/18 after asking for 5/150 the year before. Dude better be motivated.
Ray Verified Member Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Even if he replicated his numbers from 2015 in 2016, would there have been a team crazy enough to give Bautista $150 million? Cespedes got $110 million over 4 years. Bautista is the better bat, but Cespedes can provide some value on the field, and he's younger. Don't think Bautista would've even gotten $100 million given his age and how the market for sluggers played out in the offseason.
