Heading down to Dunedin for march. Wondering if anyone has ever gone to the on field event. What players can you expect to see there

I went probably 7 years ago. At that time, everyone was there except Vernon Wells. Meeting Doc was simply the best. It's a great event.

 

 

One tip is they say something about only being able to bring 2 things to get "signed", but there were guys with entire cases of balls. I tried to follow the rules, so I have one ball with Doc's autograph and another ball with everyone elses

I thought I heard there was only 1 no name player and the coaches there last year.

I'm there all of April for A ball but will also try to get down for the last week in March...may need tickets then. I'll be going to the 2nd and 3rd games of the Jays / Tampa series at the Trop. Opening day of the series is usually sold out but I just get the cheapest tickets for the next 2 games and sit where I want...the place is usually empty.

For those going down for the first time, I suggest that if you want to see the players up close and personal for pictures and signing, make a trip to the Mattick Centre. Players who do not make the away game trips and most of the top prospects are usually there working out or playing in a intra-squad game. It is very loose atmosphere and the best part , It' s free.

Jays announced TV schedule for Spring Training. Seems like there are more games on TV than in the past. 11 games on TV

He had about the most humbling year ever, between getting hurt twice, becoming a meme by being the receiving end of a punch, and ending up with 1/18 after asking for 5/150 the year before.

 

Dude better be motivated.

Even if he replicated his numbers from 2015 in 2016, would there have been a team crazy enough to give Bautista $150 million?

 

Cespedes got $110 million over 4 years. Bautista is the better bat, but Cespedes can provide some value on the field, and he's younger. Don't think Bautista would've even gotten $100 million given his age and how the market for sluggers played out in the offseason.
