Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 I think we were actually tilted towards a pitcher's park last year. You're correct, just under a 95 score, wow! http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 and the Trop is a Maxi Pad I honestly thought most of the park factor was caught in FIP though? Oh. It didn’t use to be an I’m far too old to keep up with this s***.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 1. It's 1.3 for Osuna in 2015 2. xFIP is not used in calculating fWAR. It's just FIP, and the difference would that you are looking at different years...which means different replacement levels. Plus 5 extra IP's Jesus - I really botched that up didn't I? I was using 2016 - had the innings wrong. 10 more innings, but double the WAR, despite having a high FIP and much higher xFIP. I always thought WAR used park adjusted values? Maybe I should read up on it a bit better (or give up)
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 White Sox will be graduating Giolito, Lopez, Kopech, and Hansen over the next 2 years. Better saddle them with Welington Castillo.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 38 homers seems like a small number for a franchise record!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 38 homers seems like a small number for a franchise record! Hitting dingers in KC is a bitch. But I agree, I would have thought more still.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Terrence Gore, JJ Hoover, and Bruce Rondon non tendered. Nothing really interesting yet.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Terrence Gore, JJ Hoover, and Bruce Rondon non tendered. Nothing really interesting yet. I wouldn't mind signing Smyly to a 2 year deal. He'll be out most or all of next year, but could take over for Happ in 2019. Sell him on our new high performance department to help with the rehab.

It will be interesting to see how him and Rosenthal play things - two year deal, or pull a Holland and rehab without a contract.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Goins was non-tendered it's a festivus miracle!!!
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Aaron Boone is the new manager of the Yankees, but who gives a s***? Ryan Goins is no longer a Blue Jay.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Aaron Boone sounds like a really good choice according to those who know him and his family
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Three year extension for Preller, for some reason
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Three year extension for Preller, for some reason lulz... Tulo to the Pads?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Wow... dude must be drilling them.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Clearly he will be going to the Giants then
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Looks like the Royals are going to do a full out rebuild; https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/12/royals-likely-headed-for-rebuild.html Danny Duffy is somewhat interesting at 4 years and 60 million but not sure i would be willing to give up what the Royals would likely ask for.

The AL Central is going to suck next year! Could be another 100 win season for Cleveland.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Talk about a year late. How much better off would they be if they traded Cain, Hosmer, and Moose. Just the worst f***ing way to do it.

Just the worst f***ing way to do it. I'm just glad we're not holding onto our star(s) in the last year of his/their contract in the hope of contending when the fan base is begging for a rebuild.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 If we don't trade or extend JD before the end of the year, we better be in a great position to make the playoffs. If we're .500 and still choose to 'go for it', then choose to start a rebuild the O/S after, I'd be furious

Ray Verified Member Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I wonder if they would let go of Merrifield cheaply, thinking maybe he had a fluke year and is approaching 29. He can cover OF/2B quite easily. If anything, they'll be looking to sell high on Merrifield after 1 good season. I hope we don't trade for him. Although KC is probably a good trade target. They're officially saying they're rebuilding while also running a $130 million payroll for next season. Most of their guaranteed contracts are sunk costs (Ian Kennedy, Brandon Moss, Jason Hammel, Alex Gordon). Duffy and Salvador Perez are really they're only valuable trade chips. Maybe they'd be desperate to shed some payroll and we could end up getting Danny Duffy for relatively cheap.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 The Rangers have signed Mike Minor, terms not known yet, according to Rosenthal.
Ray Verified Member Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Good get for the Rangers depending on how much they paid for him. Minor had a sneaky good year last season out of the bullpen and has potential upside as a starter too.
