THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Fair enough. I just thought they might've utilized Greene in the same way they used Sanchez in 2015. Bullpen guy making spot starts here and there with the eventuality that he'll start in the following season. It's just not a great idea in theory or practice IMO. He needs far too much work on his secondaries before he should be called up. With Sanchez, you still had a guy who could miss bats, even in the minors.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe if the strikeouts come. Ideally, yes. But Sanchez says otherwise.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Ideally, yes. But Sanchez says otherwise. Sanchez ranged between 7 and 13 K/9 in the minors. Greene has never struck more than a batter per inning in any level and is mostly around 5-6 K/9.

Depends if he was working on different things as assignment, you really can't say anything definitive, but I know what you're point is.
