Thought people here might want to know. Kind of a crazy deal, with OOTP 17* ordinarily being $21 on Steam.

Also comes with Train Simulator 2016 and Roller Coaster Tycoon: Deluxe.

You can essentially get all three games for a penny but it requires a minimum $1.00 donation to get the Steam keys.

You can also pay a penny right now to save the deal in your library forever and upgrade to $1.00 at any time in the future to receive the keys.

There are 13 days until this deal expires.

*For those that don't know, OOTP (Out of the Park Baseball) is widely regarded as the #1 baseball simulation game of all time.

FTFY

It's the baseball equivalent of Championship Manager, a glorified spreadsheet as many refer to management sims.

That genre is truly addictive, though I've never played OOTP Baseball.

I'm gonna get it just cause but I never understood the appeal in 'manager' games. You're just managing a bunch of spreadsheets and numbers? there's no actual gameplay where you swing at s*** and throw s***?

Thanks! I'll probably purchase.

Game 1 of 2016, Archer vs Stroman. Jays load the bases with no outs in the third and don't score with three straight weakly hit balls.

This is a pretty good game.

EDIT: An I lose on a walk-off walk to Brad Miller. Storen puts two on, then Osuna walks the next two on eight straight (!!!). Is there a problem in the clubhouse? Should I be fired as manager? I did turn on easy mode and give myself, a completely unqualified nobody, the job of managing a contending major league baseball team. We'll let it play out though. We'll battle. We'll see how it goes. We won't jump to any conclusions. Just gonna keep going out there and grind and good things will happen.

It's actually got a pretty vast multiplayer feature as well. You can join leagues and play with others and so on. The last baseball forum I frequented had a sub-forum dedicated entirely to a massive OOTP dynasty league. I personally never played it until I bought it yesterday but it seems amazing so far.

I wonder if it's something guys here would enjoy. Though there's probably an extra level to work through with it being a video game and not on an easily accessible host site.

Votto has been so awesome that his OPS is actually 1.337 as of right now.

That was only after 19 games played, it will normalize over time during the season. Here he is after 85 games:

Well I was just amused that his OPS was 1337. What are the odds of landing on that exact number?

Btw, for anyone playing current season franchise, pay Yuli Gurriel whatever he wants. He's an absolute monster.

A gentleman and a scholar. Thanks for this info. How did/do you find these deals?

At the end of the page in OP's link is a option to sign up for updates on new deals.

What is the relevance of 1337?

Good game I hate the constant inbox messages. Also players complain about bad morale but can't figure out who???

Good game highly addictive

Uncheck the boxes where you receive messages from things you don't care about, should be at the bottom of the mail screen off the top of my head

Totally unrelated but Ubisoft is doing a giveaway every day for the 30 days of Christmas. Today's giveaway is letting people claim every game they gave away this year, for free.

The list includes Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell and The Crew. All are free, and you can claim all 7 games with one click if you have an account (register if not). You can also go back and get all previous giveaways by clicking on each day in the calendar. Most of them are useless, just GIFs and wallpapers and stuff.

30 Days of Giveaways: https://30days.ubi.com/Promotion/Calendar

Day 22: https://30days.ubi.com/Promotion/RedeemCode/?giveAwayId=giveaway3

I know there's a gaming thread in the off-topic forum, but I thought I'd post here since more people are active here. Obviously didn't think it was worth its own thread so I put it in here.

I played this for the first time in a month or so. Running a Pittsburgh Pirates campaign. Currently 5-4 and just completed a 13-inning 9-8 victory in which I gave Jeff Locke an early 8-0 lead and watched it trickle away until Melancon finally coughed up the last two runs in the ninth. I did give Verlander an Upton-like pounding though (Kate).

Also, I'm a moron and didn't think that I needed to warm my relievers manually. That's why my pen was so bad the first few games I manually played...

Why didn't I think a game this detailed also included manual BP warming? Like I said, I'm a moron. The in-game BP warm up menu is right under your active pitcher menu, in case anyone else overlooked it too.

On the screen just before you start the actual game on the field you have an option on the left to disable the warming up rule. Some people use that option since the opponent team AI doesn't use the warm up rule. By disabling it you just assume that your pitching coach has your back and your pitchers ready.

I started an expansion franchise and I'm a couple seasons in and just lost the AL wildcard game to the Yankees. I'll tell you what, trades in this game can be very difficult. I was trying to get Bo Bichette from the O's my first 2 years and they wanted absolutely no one in my system.
